Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta spied in India for the first time

It's a Kia Seltos, not a Hyundai Creta.

Alloy wheels are same as one in Seltos HTK+ variant. Window line and rear boot shape are all clues that it's a Seltos.

Seltos has been unveiled and already being sold, doesn't make sense to drive around in camouflage.

AS for the wheels, being a prototype, they could be using the same wheels from the sister company. Also the TN plates are for Hyundai as their plant is in Tamil Nadu.

So it is more likely that it is indeed the next gen Creta.

That's definitely not a Seltos.
The rear lights are different.

Yes I think it's Seltos not Creta, the window line gives it away.

Attaching this one with a similar angle Seltos from our form.

From the super sharp window lines, I believe its the new segment rival from Mahindra (XUV 400?)

Scoop! Next-gen Hyundai Creta spotted in India

Thanks to Shridhar for sending these images in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

The next generation Hyundai Creta has been caught testing in India, again. This time, the SUV was spotted on the Guindy road in Chennai.

The new spy images partially reveal the car's tail clamp cluster. It has integrated roof rails, ORVMs with turn signals and silver 5-spoke alloy wheels.

The new Creta is expected to be based on the ix25 that was unveiled earlier this year. It is likely to get a new grille flanked by trapezoidal headlamps that have L-shaped LED daytime running lights. Hyundai might offer the new model in 5-seat and 7-seat configurations.

The next generation Creta is expected to be offered with BS-VI compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options.

The tail lamp design seem to be same as seen in the iX25

Hyundai keeps on reducing the distance between roof rails and the roof. The normal gap between roof rails and roof was closed in facelift Creta, in this new version Creta, it appears sunken in the roof. I think by the facelift of this new Creta, they will simply paint two lines on top of the roof and claim that roofrails are now lodged inside

BTW the design looks dangerously similar to ix25, so buyers who hate that new shape better be prepared for some unwanted face reveal.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta spied in India for the first time

Well I was expecting it to resemble ix25 cause the previous generation creta and ix25 looked identical, maybe this will help manufacture ix25 in India to export and keep costs low propably.
Personally if I had the car, I could live with the design but it's not my cup of tea. I feel the style suits venue better.

Will it be cheaper to export from India compared to exporting from China? Perhaps in some cases like tariff wars with north America. Elsewhere I think if a company has presence in China already - exporting from India is always going to be costlier than from China.

There is a small possibility that the initial mules are simply imported as-is from China for Indian R&D. Perhaps being used in iX25 form for suspension, power-train calibration & tuning for our conditions & customer preferences? It may be too early to rule out an India specific face being in the works in parallel? (I'm praying I'm true! My knees are bleeding profusely...)

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta spied in India for the first time

This is the 2020 Creta for India. Very clear, it will follow the design cues of the iX25!

The new Hyundai Creta for India will share its platform, body panels and a large number of interior bits with the model sold abroad. However, there are subtle changes: a closer look at the SUV reveals that the grille design – specifically the inserts – has a new chequered pattern instead of honeycomb one seen on the China-spec car.
Quote:
the new Creta will share the same BS6-compliant 1.5-litre engine options with the Kia Seltos, the big news is that it could also come with the BS6-compliant 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine too – it’s the same unit that’s available with the Seltos GT Line. Hyundai is also likely to introduce mild-hybrid option on the Creta in India.

So the arrival of the ugly Creta iteration is confirmed and all the news of revised rear for India was wrong. Now what is to be seen is how well this design grows on the customer. Looks like Hyundai moving the design language from “Fluidic” to “Funky”!!
