What an abomination it is! But who knows might be a success in our market and especially if Hyundai gives it the 1.5-liter diesel motor. This van if priced well no matter how it looks will surely eat into MS Ertiga/XL6 sales. That said, I honestly want Hyundai to change its design language.

Looks like Hyundai's usual mistake of scaling down their full size vehicle designs to their compact vehicles.

They tried to mimic the the futuristic Hyundai Staria, but ended up looking like a Mitsubishi Xpander.

The interiors are typically snazzy as has been the norm for Hyundai / KIA but the exterior is...well...polarising to be polite. But I for one am looking for a people mover once I move back to India next year. This car with its interiors will definitely be in contention no matter the exterior looks.

Hyundai Stargazer is listed on the Hyundai Indonesia website. In the website, they have mentioned "The Hyundai STARGAZER is a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) created specifically for Indonesia. The exterior features a design that is dynamic, expressive, and futuristic in design." going by this, not sure if we will get a different version of MPV in India

Just fyi there's no concrete rumours about a planned Hyundai MPV for the Indian market. Media reporting on an "Indian-bound" Stargazer are likely operating on a logic that it would work as an Ertiga rival in India. It's speculation on my part, but Hyundai Motor Group are probably concerned with cannibalization with the Alcazar and Carens, adding another 7-seat vehicle in the similar space wouldn't make sense. Not to mention Stargazer's styling likely wouldn't work for the Indian market.

A future product for the Indian market would be a sub-Venue SUV - a Tata Punch rival codenamed QI1. I found the codename in some Hyundai engineer's LinkedIn (wouldn't be very ethical to link it here you can search it by yourself), but in Hyundai codes the first letter Q usually means small SUV, second letter I means India-model Hyundai (Y for India-model Kia), and the '1' number indicates a first-generation model.

The exterior of STARGAZER is decorated with Horizontal DRL on the front.
