Honda ties up with Orix for car leasing services in India

Honda has partnered with Orix - a car leasing and rental company, to launch car leasing services in India.

Honda and Orix plan to target self-employed professionals and salaried individuals for its leasing services. The services will be offered to corporates as well as individuals and customers will be able to lease the Honda City, Civic and CR-V.

Car leasing enables customers to use a car without having to purchase it. The lease plans will offer comprehensive insurance plans, maintenance packages, tax management and curated rentals.

Let's tie up with cabs or car leasing companies to revive the sales but let's not think of building a true VFM car to the customer - That's the manufacturers new motto now!

Interestingly, in the US market, Honda regularly chastizes other automobile OEMs for moving huge numbers of stocks via rental car companies. Honda calls them "lazy" for doing so. And they rightly shun fleet sales to rental agencies for their low margins.

And they're okay with this in India? Ok They should drop their superciliousness now at least
