I am thinking adding rear spoiler for my City. Honda dealer quoted 14.5 K including installation. It requires drilling and bit concerned about it. What are the precautions to take before fitting to prevent rust and water leakage?
There are 2 types of spoilers used in the City. One is there in the special edition (elegant?) and has brake lights built into it. Another one is the standard lip spoiler as fitted in the ZX. If drilling has to be done for both spoilers, then I will suggest getting the hole area painted by applying primer to avoid rust. Once the fresh drill is painted well to cover all bare metal, rust should not be an issue. The spoiler should come with other hardware (like rubber/ silicon seals etc) to prevent any water ingress through those holes.

Thanks.

Even cars which typically have softer suspension systems than Hondas, like Hyundai, Maruti, etc don't exactly have a "bouncy" effect unless you have a suspension issue. Hope this helps.

Never have I heard any complaints from rear seat passengers on any sort of vertical/bouncy effect. The only feedback I have received is - "sofa like seats, lots of legroom, very spacious and comfortable." I usually do not drive beyond 100kmph.

I have read that installing "Rogerabs" on front and rear suspension stiffens the suspension, not specific for Honda City but in general.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I took back your message to him, but he is still in favour of stiffening the suspension. Any good dealers in Chennai who can do this?

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

The owner's manual of infotainment system in the City says it can read mp4 among many other video formats. However, loaded in the USB, a lot of MP4 files are not being read. It does play a few videos but not all of them. Anyone got some pointers?

Also, any way to mirror your phone screen to the infotainment system like for watching videos? Of course, while the car is stationary.
Thanks.

Hey, what about warranty due to these dampening sheets. Did you consult service advisor before moving forward with this?

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Has anyone fitted a 360 degree camera in the existing infotainment system of Honda City 5th generation? I enquired a little and found one shop that said installs 360 degree cameras for Capital Honda in Chennai. The brand name was Pricol.

Anyone have any experience/suggestions?

Congratulations! Looks great. Good to see people still opting Honda City for the reliability and comfort it offers.

I am completing 6 months now. No maintenance, no complaints at all. After 2nd servicing, total bill is Rs 55

I think this to do more with how OEMs procure the batteries from battery manufacturers. Expect your new battery to last much longer.

One question- did you check the possibility of getting the battery changed under warranty- since the original warranty is for 3 years on the car?

Thanks.

Thanks for the insight!

Regarding the warranty part. I’m aware that all these car manufacturers offer only 1 year warranty on the battery from the date of sale. Although will check once with the SC but highly doubtful since it’s a running part like for eg. brakes.

Interestingly the stock battery lasted long on my earlier 4th gen City (for almost 4 years), I guess thanks to not much modern electronics offered in it!

Dear all, is there a way to improve the video quality of the rear camera of the 5th gen city? Sadly, OEM video quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Congratulations and welcome to the group.

Also please share the cost break for the PPF & Michelin Tyres for my reference and the warranties for the PPF.

Man, what do you do to extract these numbers. I hardly get 16kmpl on a tankful with 70-30 highway- city usage.

Even on a full highway run, I have never seen the magic 20 kmpl on the MID even with cruise control enabled and keeping speeds at 80-85 kmph and the MID is quite accurate as well.
