I got the ZX MT (R) version in Meteoroid Grey. Perhaps I guess you might have already finalized your booking by now.

We took the delivery on this Deepavali, after taking delivery took the car to Ragigudda Temple for puja
Hi Subhasis,

Congratulations on the new ride! It looks really awesome in that grey shade.

Nice to see Ragigudda - I live quite nearby. Would love to know more about the accessories / mods you have done to your car especially related to ceramic coating or PPF, underbody coating etc. I've not yet finalized - I'm not in a hurry and taking some time to be sure

I am planning to Magnum Honda this Sat morning to finalize my booking. Hope we bump into each other.

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Hello all, ok so I tried using the ECO mode, both in the city traffic and expressway. Pedal input feel slightly changes and you can feel the difference. Still under 1000 kms, so not looking at fuel economy at now, not sure how much the ECO mode will be beneficial in city traffic, on highway while cruising I put the ECO mode, saw the RPM needle drop ever so slightly so that could be a useful way to increase fuel economy,

Was talking to my friend today, he did some higher speeds than normal and says till highway speeds the car didn’t feel like it is putting extra effort and it was just going, beyond that he said he could really hear the engine and then decided to backoff, but he was grinning ear to ear with the experience.

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

A colleague in my office bought a Honda City ZX CVT in Obsidian Blue Pearl for 18 lakh on the road (Hyderabad). He negotiated hard with the dealer and secured a discount of 2.5 lakhs. At 18 lakhs on the road, it is incredible value for money. Is anyone else getting similar deals?

You can find an option in the cluster and adjust the distance Near/Far when you wish the CMBS to engage. I've set it to the nearest possible and it is generally doing well.

But I echo with you, inspite of doing that there's always one section of mind on the auto braking and you have to keep an space for that too in your driving.

There’s no option to set CMBS sensitivity. The only option is to set distances for adaptive cruise control.

Just check this once please. Go to Settings - Driver Assist System Setup - Preceding Vehicle Promixity Warning Distance - Normal/Near/Far - Change this to Near

I did this setting last year and I've realised that now CMBS doesn't engage that frequently and it only does whenever the vehicles are very near.

There are other options under this Driver Assist as well so you can manually change them as per your convenience. Please let me know if my understanding is not accurate. Thanks

Thank you so much, Nikhil!
Apologies for the delayed response. Things have been quite hectic on the personal front lately. I actually replied to your message yesterday while I was at Magnum Honda, but it seems the response didn’t go through due to a patchy mobile network. I wish I had your number—I'll DM you mine for easier communication.
I hope you visited the Magnum branch on Kanakapura Road. I was initially at the Magnum Service Center in Yeswanthpur but later had to travel to the Kanakapura branch as well. Unfortunately, we missed the chance to meet.
Regarding accessories and modifications, I decided to keep it minimalist.
I did some research and visited multiple shops for PPF and Ceramic coating. However, I couldn’t justify yet the cost of ₹1.5–1.8 lakhs for the PPF - it could be beneficial but felt exorbitantly priced, amounting to nearly 10% of the car’s value. While I’m still considering ceramic coating, I haven’t finalized a good, reliable detailer yet.
Here are the accessories I opted for:
  1. Boot trunk tray
  2. Step illumination
  3. Door edge garnish
  4. Door handle protector
  5. Car cover
  6. Honda Basic Kit: While many consider it pricey, I found it to be useful. It includes:
    - 3D bucket mats and floor mats, which feel premium and practical
    - Two Honda branded key chains
    - An emergency hammer.
    - A Honda car care kit, packaged in a Honda-branded bag, which is also of good quality.
Additionally, I spent considerable time selecting a dashcam, given the increasing road rage and undisciplined driving in Bangalore. Driving here, even with over 20 years of experience and many long road trips under my belt, feels daunting these days. I finally decided on the Viofo A229 Pro 2CH dashcam, and the entire purchase experience was fantastic. It seems to be a very good choice so far.
I’m absolutely loving the car! Honda has thoughtfully crafted it, and in my opinion, it remains the best-looking sedan. The engine is punchy and responsive, but the cabin does let in noticeable engine noise - something that might stand out, especially for someone transitioning from a Hyundai.
I’ve already completed the first servicing and opted for the 3-year maintenance package. Thanks to this, I didn’t have to pay a single rupee for the servicing. The service staff was very helpful, and the overall experience was much better compared to the Sales Experience.
In my view, the Honda City still holds its own in the sedan segment.

I hope you’ve made your booking by now! Let me know which model you finalized.
Thanks much.

You may be right, I could be wrong here. I remember this setting being in the menu which I thought was for front vehicle departure alert. I will check this again. Thanks for the useful information.

Yes you can change the distance for CMBS trigger. Attaching screenshot of the manual.

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

My 2022 City CVT is making a squeaking noise when the break pedal is pressed. It does not come when the pedal is fully pressed, but only when slightly and when its done - lets say not slowly.
I am not inclined to take it to an authorized showroom to check as I have had a couple of bad experiences with my nearest service center and hence checked with a couple of garages nearby. One of them said this is the piston issue and to solve it temporarily, we can spray a little above the brake pedal, but the sound might crop up again in a week or month (which he really cant say). Long term fix would be to replace the piston.
Another garage said this noise is perfectly fine and this will be in all the cars. I said until now I didn't have this problem (have rode more than 16K Kms), but he kept persisting that this is not an issue at all and the noise would have been there from day one, and I wouldnt have noticed. I knew he wanted to just escape from his work for the day and left.

Should I take it to an authorized service center and check it?
Please note its only the squeaky noise which troubles me and the braking is perfectly good. The noise too is audible only when the cabin is silent, but I wanted to get rid of that noise.
Any suggestions are welcome

May be you can try WD-40 or a silicon lubricant on the pivot of the pedal on which it is hinged. The sound may be due to lack of lubrication.

I have had a squeaky clutch pedal for more than 1.5 years , I tried to get the squeak removed on my clutch pedal and it wasnt worth the time spent because none of the service centres considered it as an issue.

In addition I had a small crrk sound on my steering as well and getting it corrected caused more problems than the sound itself . The service centre added some lubrication to a spring in the steering but it caused alignment problems and multiple visits to the service centre to get it corrected. As per SA it seems for 5th gen City, even steering has some factory settings and they missed to revert the car to those settings after removing the steering wheel.

In conclusion, if its a sound which only you hear and if it is not causing any excessive wear on your brakes, I would suggest to let it be

I have resigned to considering these as quirks of the car

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Question about the wipers on the City 5th Gen - Is the size 24/16 inch?

Also, what aftermarket wipers does everyone buy? These ones from Bosch or any other are recommended?

I don't mind spending around 1K max, if there are better quality wipers available online than the Bosch ones, though hoping it will be a easy install.

26/14 is the size. I tried Valeo framless wipers but that made some scratches on the top section of the windshield. At last went to service center and bought the OEM ones and it works fine now. Cost me 1.3k. If your frames are in good shape, you can just buy the OEM rubber from boodmo and put it in the frames. Will cost you less than 500.

26/14 is the size. Bosch clear advantage used to be among the better choices.
