Looks delicious, at least from a cosmetic change perspective. But CVT gearbox in a sport edition? Come on Honda!!

At least they could've launched this in manual versions also - that'd have been a good proposition.

Route till the end of purvanchal expressway is perfect. Just after that there is a 15 km stretch which is a 2 lane highway with oncoming traffic. Here there are a lot of trailer trucks and usually on an average takes about 1-2 hrs to cross this stretch on any time of the day. Otherwise roads are perfect

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Hello all.

Any recommendations for a reliable service center for Honda vehicles in Pune? I currently reside in the Hadapsar-Magarpatta locality.

Since 2015, I have always gotten my servicing done at a Honda authorised workshop in Bombay. Was planning the same in Pune, but got very concerned after reading the reviews for Crystal Honda (Wagholi) and Deccan Honda (Dhanakwadi). My vehicle just needs it's annual service, but I am worried that Pune being a new city for me, some workshop may mess it up and leave me hassled.

I am open to independent workshops (was looking at The Mechanix, but found its website to be inoperative), as long as they are reliable and use genuine Honda parts.

Thank you.

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Will the below wipers from Amazon work / fit on the Honda City 5th Gen (2022) model? One is 24th inch and the other is 15 inch.

https://www.amazon.in/Bosch-33970065...01H078CNM?th=1

https://www.amazon.in/Bosch-33970065...01H078S72?th=1

I know the original size is 24/14 but if 15 works without issues, I'm happy to take those.

And how easy it is to DIY the replacement?

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Hi all,
Sorry for the long post! I booked a Honda City CVT – V variant (Brown colour) yesterday and should be receiving the car in a couple of weeks. I wanted to share my experience and also check with fellow BHPians on a few accessories.

1. Initially, I went to test drive the Amaze, but eventually stretched my budget and booked the City instead. Since I was replacing my 5-year-old Triber, I was considering a sub-4 meter sedan (Dzire or Amaze) or a compact SUV. I felt much more confident while driving the Amaze, but my wife and mother felt a bit cramped in the rear seat.
Reluctantly, I test-drove the City (given its poor sales, I wasn't sure if Honda would continue production). However, my mother and wife thoroughly enjoyed the ride experience. The only downside was that we test drove it on Mount Road in Chennai (a major thoroughfare), which didn’t give us a complete feel for the car on rough/patchy roads.

2. Since we had increased our budget, I explored other options in the same price range as the City. I test-drove the Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3XO. I enjoyed driving the 3XO the most, followed by the Grand Vitara. While Kia cars were feature-packed, I didn't feel very comfortable behind the wheel.

3. I almost finalized the 3XO AX5L, which had everything we wanted, including adaptive cruise control, ADAS L2, Sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and ventilated seats. However, a few friends advised against Mahindra cars due to concerns like killing the models, recalls, and poor resale value. I also came across a few BHP reviews mentioning glitches during the initial years.

4. That left me with the Grand Vitara and the City. While the Grand Vitara offered better value for money, my family was still inclined towards the City. Therefore, I requested a second test drive—this time on the inner lanes of Mylapore and Royapettah. While the City handled potholes decently, it couldn’t match the ride quality of the GV or the 3XO on bad roads. However, my preference for a sedan, the City’s classy aesthetics (which my family loved), and the presence of ADAS (which I plan to use on my drives to Hyderabad and Andhra) made me go ahead with the City.
I've done a fair bit of research on variants and models (Team-BHP, V3Cars, and CarWale were especially helpful) before finalizing V CVT variant (missing sun-roof and lanewatch camera though).

However, a few questions remain:

1. Ground Clearance with R15 Tyres:
Will this be an issue in Chennai, especially with speed breakers and potholes? I came across a few posts suggesting tyre upgrades, but I intend to stick to stock tyres for now. Would appreciate any feedback from fellow owners who haven’t replaced the stock tyres (R15).
2. Accessories – Worth Installing?
Here's my list. Please let me know which ones are worth going for. The dealer (Sundaram Honda) has quoted ₹30k for the 360-degree camera which would take care of my parking as well as dashcam needs.
• Door damping
• Seat covers (leatherette)
• Floor mats
• Mudguards (do they come stock with the car?)
• Sun film (for Chennai’s 11-month summer!)
• 3M coating
• Bumper protectors
• Side garnish
• Sunblinds for rear passengers (is it required if I am already installing Sun film?)
• Steering cover (not sure if this is required)
• Engine cover (Is this the same as an engine skid plate? Was told that this come stock with the car but I am unsure)
Planning to get most accessories from the dealer, but if you know of any good shops on GP Road, Chennai offering better deals, please share recommendations.
3. Aftermarket Ventilated Seats:
Are they worth it given that they are non-standard, especially in Chennai's heat?
4. Honda Connect:
The dealer mentioned that it’s chargeable. Is it worth paying for? I might only use TPMS stats.
Finally, I noticed very few people buying the car lately (even Ciaz is outselling City). While I am looking forward to being part of the Honda family, I hope I am not making the mistake of buying a dying brand. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions and advice!

Perfect road as B2W said above. Just be mindful when approaching tunnel overbridges on the flat out road. Speeds above 1 two zero over these, at some places, might unsettle your rear. Noida to Buxar is possible in about 9 hours if pass through Lucknow in dead of night. Noida Lucknow is seething with camera traps with tolerances of just 2-3 km so watch out for those but eating facilities are good. Every 100km there is a motel complex known as UPEIDA complexes. But my advice is these Noida expressway roadside motels are pants and since Lucknow cannot be avoided, better stay there and have proper lunch/dinner.
Lucknow Buxar have bare minimum eating facilities and no night stay provision but very free flowing and somewhat scenic road. I do Pitampura TV tower to Ranchi onward (1400 km one way) twice a year flatout in about 21 hours. Buxar have a decent 3 star properly and there onwards, towards Jharkhand side road conditions are bone breaking in most patches. Bihar side roads are somewhat better but single tracks.

overall it is a safe route and expressway is free flowing; without worries about rains etc. I stay (if really needed) in lucknow outskirts or at Buxar. Let me know if you need more info in this specific route. Goodluck.

360degree cam is not an official Honda accessory as far as I know. I would avoid it since it is complex to install.

3. Aftermarket Ventilated Seats:

They work moderately well. Chennai weather is extreme, you can try it at the showroom and take a call.

4. Honda Connect:
The dealer mentioned that it’s chargeable. Is it worth paying for? I might only use TPMS stats.

Honda Connect is free for first 5 years. City doesn't have TPMS- It only has a deflation warning system so you won't get tire pressure values in the app unless you get the OE TPMS accessory.

Regards.

Can anyone guide me on the above wiper selection?

Please check the original sizes. I think it is 26D/14P. 15P also fits.
Replacement is easy DIY. Check you tube videos and you will know how to release the old and lock in the new one.

Thanks.

I have recently changed wipers and bought 26/14. Bought it from Opera House Car accessory market in Mumbai. The shop owner and online suggests 24 inch for driver side but the OEM wipers itself was 26.

26 fits perfectly and gives a good swipe.

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

My tyres will soon require an update (less than 7,500 KM remaining), and I am currently searching for new tyres. I am considering a slight upsize to 195/55 R16 and have three options in mind: Continental UC6, Bridgestone Turanza 6i, and Vredestein Ultrac. I am inclined towards the UC6 due to its sporty feel. However, I understand that the Continental UC7 was released outside India approximately 2.5 years ago with no update on launch in India. Online there is not much details available about these tyres other than official videos especially Turanza & Vredestein

Could anyone provide insights if they are using any of the above tyres and share their experiences? Additionally, does anyone have information on when the UC7 will be available in India?

Regards,
ASK

Changed my Civic 2010 model tyres from Michelin Primacy 3 to Continental UC6 two months ago because the dealer said these would be closest to the Michelin’s and since Michelin’s are not available in 15 inches anymore went with them.

I am are very happy with these tyres, not done more than 200 kilometres on them but I can say the feel and comfort is very good. Wet roads also feel good, haven’t done any speed or highway run but these give me confidence in their ability for sure.

No idea about UC7; you won’t go wrong with the UC6, you could safely go ahead with them.

Cheers

Re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Recently changed mine to Yoko Earth - 1 - 205/50 R16. Extremely grippy and great in wet conditions. It did make the ride a bit firmer. Mainly the tyre size filled out the wheel well and made the car look atleast 30% better as the tyre fitment and gaps is so bad with stock tyres and wheels.
