With the April 1 deadline, Hyundai and Tata had no option of delaying the launches unlike Honda.

A bad move IMO. The City will surely face the heat from the upcoming Verna, which will be offered with three engine options and would definitely be priced cheaper. If availability does not pose any challenge, the Vento and Rapid with the 1.0 TSI mill might put a tiny dent in City sales as well. Regards!

| ![]() Selling different generation of the same sub-brand is a bad move. Tata tried it multiple times with Sumo and Safari. The result was lost sales for the older model and a sales dud newer model. Honda City already is facing the heat from Ciaz and Verna. This will further dilute the brand. I hope they don't go forward with this and completely focus on the new generation model. |

| ![]() Wonder if the new City will be City RS minus the turbocharged engine. Old City continues in bs6 avatar and new City sits up top with the RS badge. |

| ![]() Sounds like the perfect candidate to be the last nail in the coffin for Honda India. Only City and Amaze sell. The Mobilios, the WRVs and the CRVs don't sell. Civic was a half hearted attempt, but the company survived. City being the signature brand from the company, if compromised, may prove to be fatal for the company's future in the country. I like the way Skoda quickly did a virtual launch of their crucial Octavia IV as soon as the Geneva Motor Show was cancelled. Last edited by itwasntme : 24th March 2020 at 10:01. | |
