Yes that too in states where the taxes are higher.

re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

Guess the craze around new H-City has died down owing to the crazy price expectations that have set in. Only a good downside surprise can rekindle any kind of interest. Else, the C-SUVs is where the game is at, for all of 2020 at least in the south of 20 lacs range.

re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

I was looking at the on road prices of the Civic the other day in Mumbai and except for the base model everything else is north of 22 lacs. Honda needs to understand that If I have 15 lacs min to spend I can get a decent SUV body styled vehicle which is the craze these days. They need to understand this for the new City as well and price it attractively and not repulsively. I hope they awake from their sleep and much as I hate to say it stop dreaming about pricing their products ridiculously high.

Good one. This is quite logical. However, I feel to build momentum Honda will need to start at 9.99. There are several states which have tax slabs that become quite punitive at 10 lakhs and above. Honda desperately needs to stir up excitement in the market much like Skoda did with the Raid Rider VW with the revised Polo 1.0 TSI. The Verna starts at 9.3 lakhs, the Ciaz at 8.3 lakhs, the Rapid at 7.49 lakhs!

I would hazard the following guess:

V Manual petrol - 9,99,999
VX Manual petrol - 10,99,000
ZX Manual petrol - 12,49,000

V CVT - 10,99,999
VX CVT - 12,29,000
ZX CVT - 13,49,000

V diesel - 10,99,999
Vx diesel - 12,29,999
Zx diesel - 13,49,999[/quote]

Current generation V model starts at 10.66 so I don't see how they can price the new generation at 9.99 unless they launch the SV model too which according to leaks they aren't.

That's bizarre. Then why will anyone look at purchasing the previous gen model? Honda's strategy is mind boggling.

Yes, even I got the same one from Honda. Surprisingly, the dealer level launch messages have still not come.

This looks too optimistic. ZX CVT will be 16+ I guess. It could be around 16.59 lacs “introductory” pricing.

re: The 5th-gen Honda City in India. EDIT: Review on page 62

The webcast says the new City has walk-away auto-locking ? Is this something new or already available in other cars?

Fantastic pricing !

10.9L ex-showroom for the V manual variant which has 4 airbags and 12.25L for the VX manual.

Honda Car India says their engineers specifically designed the rear seat of the City to not crumple the Indian saree and offer more space.
