I believe that was the 2.2L variant, and the ones with the 2.6L were near 10 Lakh odd. Add to that the cost of upgrading to BS6, Airbags, and other Crash Worthines stuff, I sure hope that it is lesser or at par with the new Thar. I hope you're not quoting prices from Karnataka or one of the states where the taxes are pretty high!

Old Gurkha having factory metal hard top and locking differentials against the open top Thar was well priced for what it offered. But the new Gurkha hard top with lesser powerful engine and looking a bit less premium against the new Thar hard top which has more power and features, might actually be at least 50K to 100K lesser than respective Thar variants according to my estimate. And hopefully with far lesser waiting periods and butch looks and off roading ability will make a compelling case as my next buy, I suppose!

I love the new Thar, but Gurkha always had a bigger soft spot in my heart and mind than the Thar, new or old.

No, this was in Maharashtra. Karnataka would be even higher. Dealer near me did not have TD vehicle available and told me to go to another city since there was no chance he will ever get a TD car! At this point I'm just surprised he even had the price sheet. In any case this seems like a car I'll admire from a distance but give a pass when it comes to dish out the dough.

I would equally like a Matte Black Everything Force Gurkha.
Too bad it does not come with a Automatic option.
Yes, I know, true off-road enthusiasts prefer a manual, but even the Mighty Jeep Wrangler Rubicon or Ford Bronco Sasquatch has a autobox. Why can't the Gurkha have one as an option.

Now this one is a looker. lovely design and rear end even looks nicer then Thar IMO. The interiors should be refined to stay in the race and its time now Force starts taking this vehicle seriously by providing better buying and servicing experience.

The rear glass reminds me of Tata Sierra, Tata should bring it back as a off road vehicle competing with Gurkha and Thar.

Gurkha is indeed desirable vehicle but due to lack of creature comforts was neglected by audience, hope all these things are sorted out.

Only if the service network is as strong as its road presence. I have read a couple of reviews online and the owners are pretty much satisfied with the car. A.S.S is the only gripe. It feels literally non-existent. I live in Pune and the nearest A.S.S for me is on the other end of the city which is 40 KMS one way. Force should seriously concentrate on sorting out their A.S.S network in the free time they have after launches or else this will end up like Fiat. Great rides ruined by incompetent A.S.S.

Like many members mentioned , hope the interiors are half as good as the exteriors . And if they are good then they should market the hell out of this as they can take away a chunk of the people who have booked Thar and waiting for it.
