Thanks for featuring my humble clicks. Yes there was a lot of onboard testing equipment on the Gurkha.

Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

The Gurkha showcased during Autoexpo looked promising on the outside but going by the pictures, even if it is the base variant, it looks distinctly like a sibling of the old Tempo Trax / Toofan etc and leaps and bounds away from a lifestyle 4x4 vehicle. The new Thar has nothing to worry about competition at least from Gurkha. I would be surprised if Force Motors launches this especially in the 89bhp guise.

So I also saw the Force Gurkha (in what looked like production spec) on Wednesday. Pics below.

Note from Support: Post fixed. Please run a spell-check before posting.
It's character is in simplicity and off road capacity, unlike the mercs or jeeps this vehicle and its 5 door version could very well haul 3 grown pigs in comfort over rough rice field terrains. Not to mention that such are the only ones connecting villages to the districts. And in case of spills a blast of water could clean both the interior and exterior.

Unlike urban India with its choked streets and INR 50+ cars parked next to open gutters there is the rural India where such vehicles thrive.

Go out more.

Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

Is there any news on the 5 door Gurkha coming in BS6 avatar ?
Most of the test vehicles spotted seem to be the 3 door version.

The 5 door Gurkha has good potential to take on the Bolero if marketed correctly.

Currently the cramped Bolero is selling in decent numbers because there is no option available for a workhorse vehicle which can keep running with very minimum maintenance. The Gurkha is another capable workhorse and in the 2WD version can compete with Bolero if Force wants it to.

Highly unlikely, given the night and day difference between after-sales support network of M&M (available in smallest of towns) and Force (?)!

It could be one of the 2 Gurkhas shown in this thread:

That was what I was thinking. If the owner is willing to spend this much on a car ( he might have bought the Gurkha for at least 10Lakh INR on road + cost of mod ) and still sell it for 16 lakhs INR, what is stopping Force from making such a car ? People will put in even 20 Lakh INR if they can come up with something like this!

You are right, I didn't notice that. But then it can't be a 4x4 like the classified ad says, as it was available only in the 3 door avatar (both 2.2 and 2.6) and didn't have a 8+D configuration.

Last gen Gurkha was available in 4x4 & 5/4 door LWB version. Only possible fly in cup was it was the less powerful variant (85 BHP), than the 120 bhp (2.2 liter) one that was available on SWB-2/3 door variants.
