Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

Does Force have any future in India (in Passenger Vehicles)? From what I read, they don’t seem really keen on selling this car. Most of their test mules are damaged and shabbily made it seems. Don’t know whether that shows rigorous testing or horrible build. I love the G-Wagen inspired look and all, but it’s gonna take a lot more than this to challenge the current generation Thar.

For all the hate that the Gurkha is receiving, let us all wait for the Gurkha BS66 like civilised automobile enthusiasts before passing our verdict.

Your 5th post on team-bhp. Guess you are the new kid on the block . Let's hear from you in 10 years, when the Gurkha BS7 will be under testing without releasing the BS-6. Or even better the all-electric Gurkha. Most Gurkha fans are arm-chair admirers and have never bought one. I have and I know few others who have and will never buy one again.

Yes, sir, I am the new kid on the block. I may also not end up buying the Gurkha even 10 years down the line. But for whatever flaws it had, be it the dodgy sales and aftersales network I don't find it fair to hate on a product that is yet to be launched. What I meant to say is that let us wait for the product to come (if it indeed is coming) before we pass the verdict.

Buying a worthy automobile for hard earned money is a decision that goes wrong with many people. Guess you are not alone. Arm chair admirers who buy something else may be better off than the ones who bought but later regret. Doesn't one know what one is getting into when buying an automobile? I mean for the ones on Teambhp, it ought to be relatively easy to buy and not regret later.

Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

Found this on YouTube. This seems like the Extreme variant of the Next-gen Force Gurkha, out testing. The vehicle is same as shown at Auto Expo 2020 and has an all black interior. Maybe production will commence soon?!

The Extreme variant has Solid Axles in the front. This one is the standard one as the IFS is clearly visible from the first picture. Most likely a production spec version.

Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

This one is much better than the Auto Expo 2020 one I feel, definitely better off with factory fitting hardtop (noise insulation may be better than Thar). However, Thar has raised the bar a lot in current iteration. Add to this, Force Motors' thin dealer & service network doesn't help sales.

As again, they should also have a 4X4 5-door variant & all front facing seats.

This one looks pretty good. Touchscreen audio in a Gurkha is something! Dashboard also looks nice. Plus the rear having a different design is a good thing. Pricing will be interesting factor.

Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

This car is supposed to have the snorkel, roof rack and step ladder standard. Good luck explaining that to over overzealous cops. Prospective owners better be prepared to be challaned every now and then. Good luck explaining that all this is factory fitted and not an aftermarket mod.

The roof rack is anyway illegal for a private vehicle running white plates. It just screams violation. Even if Force manages to get it homologated, who will convince the cops? You simply cannot drive this thing in Delhi or Chandigarh or Kerala

The video reflects 4 forward facing bucket seats + side facing jump seats at the rear ?

Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

You have to give them credit for not giving up on a brand that nobody knows outside pages like TeamBHP, learn something Tata.

By the way this thing in white looks like a Sumo, perhaps the reason why someone thought Tata Sumo was being tested on the roads. Both Sumo and Gurkha ancestry can be traced back to Mercedes but this facelift is not doing Gurkha any favor in the looks department.
