Finally some movement. Damn those straight lines though. Very defenderish.

No other car in the market makes me even bat an eyelid... This mouth watering tease is weakening my will power already! I might just end up pre-poning the purchase from two years later to very soon!

The new Force Gurkha is expected to be a good step-up over its predecessor.

New teaser

Seems like LED Headlamps with LED DRLs. Nice color and nice face. Really looking forward to this launch, hope the prices aren't as crazy as the Thar and is affordable. The roof carrier and snorkel just add to the looks of this beast of a vehicle.

ORVMs seem to lack Power Folding or Adjustment features even in today's day and age. The IRVM seems to be a Manual Day/Night unit.

Where exactly is the Force Motors showroom near Tadburd? I live fairly close to Tadbund and will go over when the vehicle is available in September.

Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

media outlets are now reporting the following

"The Gurkha will be powered by a 2.6-litre diesel engine that will be BS6 compliant and is expected to put out 115hp power and 350Nm of peak torque. The Mahindra Thar on the other hand comes with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces a peak torque of 300Nm and 130hp of power."

If thats the case its game on for the Thar. That torque number would make mahindra uncomfortable with so many already company fitted utilitarian accessories unlike the Thar.

Snorkel, metal hard top, roof top carrier, wind shield guard, ladder, tow hook, drl... to name a few.

Existing Gurkha can go to 16L anyway and was expensive than Thar V1. Unless they pull a XUV700, I would guess it to compete with Thar V2 in the price, neck to neck. Combine that with company's general lack of motivation to sell this vehicle, I do not have many hopes. Sad, because I am smitten by the looks.

I think Sirish Chandran from Evo India might already be testing the new Gurkha.

So from Tadbund Signal you head towards Paradise, you will find the Force Motors showroom to your left. I would say it is probably 500 meters from the tadbund signal

Exactly. Old Gurkha Extreme was already quite expensive although with more kit than the old Thar like front and rear manual locking differentials, Metal hardtop, better engine.
But the new Gurkha certainly won't be having Petrol option like the new Thar, forget about Torque Convertor Automatics on the Gurkha. Also the interiors won't be somewhat modern like the new Thar.

Although I always liked the G-Wagon-esque Gurkha, but the interiors were a huge let down. Don't think the new Gurkha can trump the interiors of the new Thar.

Myself being on the waiting list for a Thar Diesel AT HT, I would have loved to come across a Gurkha Diesel AT at slightly more Affordable price point

i think this is an old one. The new one has one piece glass beside the back seat. they might have photoshopped the front lights and grill on it..

Just saw there is a video too on his profile with the same vehicle in the photo. Confusing. Maybe a case of variants with different back windows...

Re: Next-gen 2020 Force Gurkha spied

Everything said and done, I personally won't touch this with a pole. Given the manner in which aftersales is managed.
Parts availability is zero with everything backordered.
An xtreme owner on tbhp had to go to aftermarket to get his AC condenser fixed as the company claimed it is a vendor item and they cannot help him.
What company makes such a statement for components like AC which are inbuilt.
I can understand tires and batteries but AC?

Force needs to put out a lot more work on their basic customer management rather than just churning out another model after a decade. More so because in all probability this is the same archaic 2.6L tuned to BS6 specs. That was a lame engine then. Would be a lame engine now.

I have tried again and again to try and like this vehicle to buy it. Was nearly sold on the xtreme but then thankfully better sense prevailed and I didn't burn my money.
