[Leoshashi]

This place used to be a MASS till 2012, later operated as a multibrand workshop till 2017, and is now converted to Marriage Hall with a touch of Automotive flavour. With the tooling and spares all gone, there is only a huge structure which stands as a relic of its once glorious past. The work is still incomplete, but with the vision they have, I'm sure it will turn out to be an awesome wedding destination for us petrol-heads. Enjoy the pics:

But seriously, this would only appeal to people who have a fascination for the automotive. I can imagine the others thinking that it is a dirty old place with scrap lying around. "Yeh deewar par toh paint bhi nahi hain. Haai Haai."

Other than weddings, this would be a great place for T-BHP meets. Is it still possible to take cars inside?

Idea is great but needs a lot of refinement. This can be a commercial success but going by the current pictures, it needs a lot more finesse, improvisation and stuff that add some more class. The designer must balance the ambiance by fine tuning the aspects of class & acceptable levels of crass! Currently it is leaning slightly towards the latter. For eg, the paintwork needs to be redone. This brick exposed wall should be actually a fake design & not actual bricks showing off so that it is acceptable by people other than hardcore petrol heads who will be the guests including the bride too. You don't want your would be to think 'yeh banda jab shadi garage mein kar raha hai to mujhe rakhega kahan??'

This is a great idea otherwise and it definitely has a market; though niche.

And since I now know that you will be tying the knot at this place only; I shall be waiting for the your union card. You know my address, right?

PS: Please get a proper wedding ring. No, piston rings are not a substitute.

I remember this place. If I remember correctly, I took our 1 day old WagonR to the same place after scratching the rear door pretty badly in our basement parking. I had just turned 18 and I had to get the door repaired before my dad found what did. If I get married in the same place, it will become even more memorable.

Interesting and ambitious project. Though it is clear that some of the spaces are work-in-progress, it doesn't appear like they will be finished to a high degree. I love industrial chic but one has to restrain from going overboard with the rusty elements. Rustic sells, shabby doesn't. Would love to see photos when this is completed.

Where exactly is it?
IIRC That junglee restaurant after jumar bridge used to have a maruti showroom ( was it sushila?)- only one which would have enough land for a marriage hall

After going through all the pictures when I saw the 4th one from the last, suddenly I realised that I know this place. This is the place where I used to accompany my father during initial services of our Alto. After shutting down of the dealership we switched to some other. There was a jungle themed restaurant in there as well. All the cutlery were made of '' Kasa'' and looked vintage. As far as I know the owner of this place is a petrolhead and has a good collection of cars as well. The vintage car under the covers, I had seen it there as well. It was maroon in colour.

Good to see this place being renovated this way.

Exactly! You remember it correctly but it wasn't the showroom just the service centre.

That's a true love towards automobile, fact of the matter is how many non enthusiast would like to exchange marriage vows in such thoughtful arena, from the perspective of living your dream this concept is a real stunner, but to rake moolah out of such proposition looks bleak.

Yes its still possible to take the car inside. The place is still not finished properly. But even in this condition, they are fully booked for rest of the year!

Yep, the manager said they have just opened the place for trials. All the rough edges will be ironed out before commercially inaugurating this place.

I don't know if this has been suggested by anyone else, but I feel this would work much better as a club/ pub.

Even if you are a petrolhead, your family, fiancè and her family might not like this and would rather have a traditional hall.

As a club though, possibilities are endless. Car themed drinks, wall graffiti and so on. Could become a petrolhead's version of a comedy club. (think of car meets here!)
