The first spy images of the next generation Kia Carnival MPV have surfaced online. The MPV, which was spotted in South Korea is expected to be launched in 2021.



The new Carnival / Sedona is likely to get new headlamp clusters with integrated LED daytime running lights. It could also get a new grille with chrome inserts, blacked-out A and B-pillars and diamond cut alloy wheels. The car also has sliding rear doors similar to the outgoing model.



Rumours suggest that Kia plans to launch the Carnival MPV in India sometime in early 2020. It could be offered with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 199 BHP and 441 Nm of torque. In India, it might be offered in a 7-seat configuration.

I have a feeling this will turn out to be a proper spaceship kind people mover with the latest tech & design for both interior & exteriors.
Trust, Kia should do the right thing by directly getting this new generation of the Carnival MPV into India & not what's planned (i.e. current gen facelift).

Kia seems to be targeting the right segments. The money spinner SUV segment followed by the other great money spinner, the MUV segment. I won’t be surprised if they bring in a small car after this to get into the volume segment.
Looking at their immaculate preparation, they might soon take over the second spot from Hyundai.

You can say that again! This Carnival looks like a big MPV and Kia is correctly targeting all the non-crowded segments. Except for the Creta & Hector (whose bookings have stopped), the Seltos really has no competition. The Harrier is a half-baked product.

Now, with the Carnival, they're looking at the luxury van segment above the Innova. For sure, the demand is there because I know people who can easily spend 60 lakhs on an MPV, but still get an Innova 2.8L AT home as there is literally no option available.

If brought in as is, with international specs and at around 50L pricing on-road with 6 cyl engines, it would absolutely body the other cars in that price bracket or higher, like Kodiaq, Q5, X3 etc

With Karim Habib joining an already overloaded design department in KIA/Hyundai and with Genesis coming up with 2 big SUV's (akin to Q3 and Q5 sizes) the group is jumping into the big car craze big time.

That’s one monster that I would surely buy for my garage. Has all the right bits and, this could be one of the segments that KIA will target. My guess is that they will concentrate on volume building and footprint expansion. Once that is done, the “unique” products like the Stinger GT and the Mohave might come in.

In any case, KIA has an advantage at the moment.

Spotted the Carnival near KR Puram on Jan 1st around 9 p.m. It wore a temporary AP registration. I thought it would be a demo vehicle, but it had garlands in the front. It could be the first factory dispatch to the dealer from the Anantpur factory, perhaps.

In-person, the Carnival looks massive. This one had a huge storage box on the roof. It's quick off the line and people were actually giving it way. It looked like a top-spec trim since it had projector headlamps and LED DRLs as well. If Kia prices it smartly, I think the Carnival has the potential to dethrone the Innova.

Was a demo vehicle I guess. Spotted the same carnival near their showroom at Hoodi junction yesterday. It looks super long but the ground clearance somehow seems to be a problem probably accentuated by the long wheelbase.

Next-gen Kia Carnival interior spied

New spy images of the next generation Kia Carnival have surfaced online. The latest images reveal the MPV's interior.



The new Carnival features a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system housed inside a single, curved display. Lower variants are likely to get a twin-pod analogue cluster.



Further, slim air-conditioning vents are positioned just below the display. The centre console has a piano black finish with silver inserts and chrome switches. The 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel is also new and has paddle shifters for the automatic transmission. The dual-tone door pads have piano black trim and silver door handles. Lower variants are likely to get black and beige interiors.



On the outside, the new Carnival could get two different grille designs depending on the variant. It also has dual-tone alloy wheels.



In India, the current generation Carnival is offered with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that makes 197 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and 440 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm. The engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The first official images of the new 2020 Kia Carnival have been released today.

Australian timing is still to be announced, but with a Korean-market launch due in the third quarter of 2020, a local debut could occur towards the end of the year or early in 2021.
