Clearly clearance sales with discounts made official so that dealers don't lose much. Expect few more such clearances before BS VI deadline.

:OT
Why do these people still use that dumb term called "Corporate Edition". Don't they have talented guys within them to get a new name? What does it even mean by Corporate edition. It is very clear that it is available for all and not limited to Corporate's.

It is scary to think how these lazy bums are suddenly going to transform (maybe some black magic) and are going to be the people managing both themselves and VW in future. Right now the only thing that they share with VW is that both are lazy. Indian market have been brutal to both of them in the past and they seem to have learnt nothing.

PS: Come January there will be one more Corporate edition from Skoda and VW will give 3,759th face-lift for their cars. lol:

This is an official acknowledgement of the discount that was already being offered anyways (in the form of free insurance + Skoda shield upto 6th year).

What would be interesting is if the free insurance and Skoda shield is still offered now. That would really sweeten the deal.

Barring that unusable 3rd row, this is an outstanding car!

I really wonder who buys these so called 'corporate editions'? Never seen one myself on the road and a lot of SAs don't have a clue about them

The Kodiaq Corporate Edition is based on the Style trim.

Didn't really understand. The Skoda website shows me the Style edition's pricing as 32.99 lakhs until 30th Sept. So, is it that there is NO difference between Style & Corporate? It's just a "branded discount" of 2.4 lakhs? Usually, corporate editions have some feature deletions.

Nevertheless, it's one heck of a car and that's one heck of a buyer's market out there:

Yes, only branded difference and the fact that corporate editions are only available in white and brown color.

Think of the corporate edition as a Style in White or Brown. No other changes. I know because I've been pestering them for a discount on a Corporate Edition brown Superb! :)

I don't think either Style or L&K has wireless charging option then how come this "corporate" edition has it ? Perhaps Kodiaq owners can confirm. Skoda's website doesn't have any info on this option as well as Corporate edition.

Expect to see more such Corporate editions in future. RTOs across the country (especially in Karnataka) are insisting on collecting the registration charges and related cesses etc. on the list price rather than on discounted ones. This was leading to friction between the buyer and the dealer with the former questioning the rationale behind this move.

Formalizing the huge discounts is a way to immediately lower the registration charges for the buyer.

Even the current L&K doesn't have wireless charging. By mistake perhaps?

Also, there is no brochure available on the website detailing the feature distribution on the Corporate Edition. Does it not come with a powered passenger seat? Unlikely considering it's based on the Style.

There is no variant badging on the Style. Could it just be a stock clearing exercise for an older production batch?

Sanity in pricing is always good, but why bother with renaming variants? They could have just regularize the discounted price for the Style variant. And the Corporate Edition name is quite maligned – its almost like saying I bought a cheap expensive car.

Only reason is to save embarrassment for earlier Style buyers who will justifiably feel that their expensive variant is now a cheap expensive variant :D.

Skoda has launched the Kodiaq Corporate Edition and Superb (DSG) Corporate Edition priced at Rs. 32.99 lakh and Rs. 25.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.

Better to rationalize the ex-showroom price directly rather than offer discounts in the guise of free maintenance / insurance / extended warranty etc. There are a couple of moot points here:

1. RTOs (in KA at least) are insisting on charging their ~20% 'loot' on the listed MRP and no cajoling will do. For example, if a customer manages to negotiate a 3 lakh cash discount, he would have lost 20% of that as RTO charges who would have still charged him at the undiscounted price.

2. Bank financing is easier when there are less freebies thrown in. It is much better to finance at the dealer price and then negotiate for the freebies.

Good move!

I wish they released a corporate edition of Octavia with DSG. Many of the Rapid owners looking for an upgrade will be naturally interested in Octavia, however not considering it only because of the price. If they could provide a corporate edition automatic at a reasonable price, i am sure there will a lot of takers.
