re: 6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh

The 'Plus' moniker has been unlucky for few brands. Could they do a re-think on this perhaps! The third row doesn't have any leg-space (gauging from the pic above) and probably can house a pet there. But the rest of the package is impressive, and the car is a run away success in its 5 seater avatar. Hopefully that will continue. Looking forward to a surprise pricing on this one.

I feel this has potential to disrupt Innova's sales a bit for following reasons.

1) Extremely VFM pricing.
2) Bucket loads of features.
3) The approach from MG dealerships towards the prospective and existing customers has been indeed fantastic till now. (still will be tough against the Big T)
4) SUVish look vs MPV.

That said, having a diesel auto would have been a much better proposition.

Spot On

If Hector Plus has a decent Boot Space with 3rd row and better maintenance (reliable & light on pocket), Its a Game changer in the 18-30L segment ( Read XUV & Innova )

re: 6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh

The Hector looks a lot smarter in this avatar IMO. The dotted chrome grille and the less aggressive bumper has led it to have a more mature look. Also, this Dark Blue Shade of the Hector looks fabulous and will complement the tan interior very well. Let's hope this version is priced well and ends up selling better than the 5 Seater version.

re: 6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh

More images: MG Hector Plus spotted in Starry Sky Blue shade

More images of the MG Hector Plus finished a blue shade called Starry Sky Blue have surfaced online.

The dark blue exterior colour seen in these images is a new addition to the colour palette offered by MG. It could be available exclusively on the Hector Plus.

The Hector Plus is longer than the regular Hector and will be offered with a third row of seats. On the outside, the SUV gets minor changes to the headlamp clusters that are positioned lower down on the front bumper. The grille has chrome inserts with a large MG logo in the centre, while the front bumper has a silver skid plate.

At the rear, the Hector Plus gets a chrome strip above the number plate holder. The dual-tone rear bumper has a skid plate insert finished in sliver. The high mounted stop lamp is integrated into the roof spoiler.

The Hector Plus is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel producing 168 BHP and 350 Nm. The engine could be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It could also get a 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT as well as a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid powertrain.

I wish the car was a bit wider in size. Would look less like an MPV then. The new Creta should have had this grille design.

Weird that this has only the 'Hector' badging instead of Hector Plus/+.

Also, that larger and protruding rear bumper looks absolutely ugly from this angle!

re: 6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh

I really like the new grille with minimal chrome, new DRL design and ofcourse the amazing new Blue shade! And thank God they removed the hideous looking red strip between the tail lights!
Overall, the 'plus' looks way cleaner and smarter than the 5 seater version.
Is the Diesel+AT combo coming too?

re: 6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh

MG Hector Plus production begins

MG has commenced production of the Hector Plus SUV in India.

6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh-hector-plus.jpg

The Hector Plus is based on the regular Hector. It is expected to be offered in 6 or 7-seat configuration with captain seats in the second row.

The Hector Plus looks similar to the 5-seater version. However, it does get minor updates to the grille and headlamp clusters. At the rear, instead of a light bar between the two tail lamp clusters, the Hector Plus gets a chrome strip. It also gets fake chrome exhausts.

The Hector Plus is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel that makes 168 BHP and 350 Nm. The engine could be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It could also get a 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT as well as a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid powertrain.

re: 6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh

I can't believe even for a moment that MG would consider putting the wimpy 1.5 litre turbo petrol on this massive car. The engine struggles so much even in the regular Hector and takes almost 15 seconds to get that car to 100 KPH. With an extra length and body weight, plus a couple of well built additional passengers in the third row, the car will be slower than the Tata Nano or the old Maruti 800!

re: 6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh

The 1.5 will really be such a disappointment on an otherwise lucrative package. This isn't going to be an enthusiasts vehicle by any means, hence the 2.0 Manual really makes little sense to buy.

re: 6-seater MG Hector Plus spotted testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 13.49 lakh

A blue coloured Hector Plus was recently seen testing on the Indian roads. Also, received an article on one of the Whatsapp group which says that the MG Hector Plus will get a hands free tailgate access. I really feel that the hands-free tailgate access is a must-have feature in the cars today.

I think MG is trying really hard to make the Hector Plus a highly VFM and feature-rich product to push the sales.
