2.2 L mHawk will be an overkill for the intended use of the vehicle. It is an expensive engine and it will increase the running, maintenance and insurance cost over the long term ownership of the vehicle.

The 1.5L 3Cyl is a well designed engine. Quiet, fuel efficient & has good spread of power for this use.

Well, it wasn't an overkill in the original TUV300 Plus. Also it was the detuned 120bhp version.

Insurance is the only serious factor that comes to mind for long term ownership cost. For a vehicle that is well over 4m, why bother with the 1.5l 3 pot? If they are really serious about long term ownership costs, plonk in the fantastic 4 pot 1.5l engine.

That is, if Mahindra actually puts the 3 pot in the Plus. Seriously hope this is a typo.

I doubt if Mahindra will put in the 3 pot in the Plus. It might get the 140 BHP tune since the upcoming Scorpio might get the 155-160 BHP tune for its diesel engine.

Will be interesting to see as to how Mahindra will price it

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

Logically they should bring 2.2L engine which was there in TUV 300 plus. Nothing to beat the combination of 2.2 mHawk and Scorpio chassis with rugged reliability.
Also like GTO had mentioned earlier reg. 'Plus' naming in TUV 300 which was confusing and not marketed well, hope this time they name it more appropriately.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

I wish they improve the seating arrangements: improve middle row leg room and get rid of the jump seats in the third row. Also, make the engine return 140 bhp. But Mahindra might calculate that this might affect Scorpio sales. If these two changes are made, this is such a VFM RWD SUV.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

How will a 1.5l 3 pot diesel power a 8-9 seater people hauler? That is the question.

The guys are so scared that this will cannibalize the sales of scorpio and xuv that they won't even offer the 2.2.

They are making similar mistake from the past of not giving forward facing seats in 3rd row earlier just to prevent cannibalization of the sales of higher models.

What is the point then? People won't buy it Period. They didn't before and now there is no chance with that 1.5l 3 pot engine.

They should brave up and provide a decent vehicle to public without worrying about cannibalization.

Also those who want Luxury will altogetherly go for XUV and "Scorpio ka toh naam chalta hai "

I think Mahindra has forgotten about this. There is absolutely no noise about it and even the test mules have disappeared from roads.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

Guys I have booked Bolero Neo N10 Optional. I was looking for a pre-owned TUV 300 PLUS only for the sake of 2.2 mHawk it came with. Waited for BSVI TUV 300 Plus aka Bolero Neo Plus (or whatever they name it), however there seems little uncertainty.
If someone can give insights into the launch timeline of Bolero Neo Plus with 2.2 mHawk, it would be great. If it is going to be launched in couple of months, I am planning to hold my booking.

@ram87pune would you be in position to comment on this?

Mahindra Bolero Neo+ 7 & 9 seater variants on the cards

As per a leaked homologation certificate, Mahindra is likely to introduce the Bolero Neo+ with 7 and 9-seat options. The SUV could be offered in P4 and P10 trims.

According to the document, the Bolero Neo+ measures 4,400 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, 1,812 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2,680 mm. The gross weight of the vehicle is 2,390 kg. Mahindra has also homologated a P4 Ambulance version, which comes with a stretcher and weighs in at 2,130 kg.

Powering the Bolero Neo+ will be a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 118 BHP @ 4,000 rpm in ‘Power mode’ and 94 BHP @ 3,600 rpm in ‘Economy mode’.

The Bolero Neo+ will essentially be an updated version of the TUV300 Plus. On the outside, the SUV is expected to get the same cosmetic updates as the Bolero Neo.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

This platform was derived from Xylo if I am not mistaken.

So, it is platform doing duty since more than a decade (The king of body roll)

Xylo got shortened to Quanto then Quanto got rebadged as TUV 300. TUV300 got an extended version named TUV 300 Plus. Again the same platform went through some minor changes and got launched as Bolero New. Now again they are extending it to make this.

What the heck is Mahindra doing with this age old platform? Why are they trying to sell the same old platform with different rebadges?

I might be wrong here, but TUV3OO and the plus version are / were based on modified Scorpio platform.

Xylo/Quanto / NuvoSport were based on Xylo platform.

While the regular Bolero still uses the age old platform, while the new Bolero Neu utilizes the Scorpio platform.
I remember, GTO mentioning that the erstwhile TUV3OO Plus was a much better package as compared to the Scorpio.

For me, a massive positive here is the 7 seat options. Can one safely assume that this would have a front facing third row? Hopefully it can also manage 4 stars at the crash tests.

9-seater Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus spied

The upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus seems to be in its final stages of development. The latest spy images suggest that the launch could be just around the corner.

The Bolero Neo Plus is expected to be offered in 7-seater and 9-seater configurations. The test car seen in these images is said to be the latter.

The exterior of the car looks similar to the TUV300 Plus, which it will replace. It’s essentially a stretched version of the Bolero Neo and is expected to get similar styling changes. The 9-seater version will feature a 2x3x4 seat layout, while the 7-seater will get a front-facing rear seat.

Re: Mahindra TUV300 Plus Facelift in the works

A 7-seater version of this can be a good Xylo replacement. Xylo used to be a cheap alternative to Innova back in the day. It never got a true replacement. Marazzo was never popular among the masses because of its peculiar design choices. 7 Seater TUV300 Plus will help Mahindra capture some of those commercial vehicle sales from Ertiga Tour versions at least.
