| ![]() That certainly seems to be the case. I posed this question to Hormazd Sorabjee from Autocar India during his FaceBook live session today. He informed that the car in spy shots was running a 1.5L diesel engine with a 1.6L badge. Last edited by aah78 : 15th November 2019 at 18:18. Reason: Quote trimmed. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Maruti Suzuki is developing new BS VI diesel engine for launch in its Gen. next SUV's. Are these test vehicles with the NEW engines? Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Mariuti Suzuki's BS6 Diesel engine expected to launch in mid 2020. - 1.5 DDiS225 - Suzuki’s 1.5 DDiS to be offered with a Lean NOx Trap (LNT) exhaust gas treatment system and also uses a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) - Since it uses the LNT technology, it is intended for use with BS6 fuel only as it did not risk using with the high sulfur content BS4 fuel - Price increase expected will be ~ ₹ 85,000 to ₹ 1.20 lakh, ex-showroom. -Expected to launch first in Swift, Dzire and Brezza before bringing in larger diesel models such as the Ciaz and Ertiga and S Cross. | ![]() Just to be clear, the price difference mentioned in the original article is between petrol and diesel models, not between bs4 and bs6 diesels. In that case, this will be in line with other bs6 diesel players. And that fantastic 1.5 diesel engine in these cars will mean that Maruti will maintain its strong hold in India even strongly.
