Agree with you that with the new design, those alloys look out of place. The current gen VRS though have very similar alloy and they look fantastic. Hopefully they will change it with something more suitable for the new version while making it sporty.

Looks are subjective and personal. I politely disagree that these wheels don't look good on a sedan/notchback. I think these wheels look absolutely fantastic on the current Octavia RS 245. Here are some pictures of my own car with these wheels. They really enhance the look of the car for me.

I also disagree with your statement of the Octavia RS being an 'executive' sedan. This is an aggressive and sporty design, which is basically a VW Golf GTI with a big boot, and I think that the big sporty wheels go very well with the car.
If one wants the 'executive' feeling Octavia, then they should go for the L&K version, not the RS.

On another note, the design of the new-gen Octavia still hasn't quite sunk in with me, so I have a different opinion of how the wheels look on that.

Skoda Octavia RS Petrol Model has 241 HP, Diesel Packs 197 HP.

Skoda News channel on Twitter reveals the Octavia RS with a 2.0-liter TSI engine will offer 241 hp. If that sounds familiar, it's because the number is exactly the same as the combined output of the electrified variant and the previous-gen Octavia RS TSI. The gasoline-only model will be available with a choice between a standard six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed automatic transmission. Both two- and three-pedal models are programmed to go on sale towards the end of August

The diesel-fueled model is listed as having a 2.0 TDI with 197 hp linked exclusively to the seven-speed DSG. Interestingly, there’s no sign of an all-wheel-drive version

the hot plug-in hybrid variant will be the first to hit the market early June, hence the company’s decision to only bring the PHEV model to Geneva next month.

Joining the electrified model will be the entry-level 1.0 TSI model with 108 hp and a six-speed manual transmission, alongside a mild-hybrid version of the same three-pot hooked up to a seven-speed DSG. Also coming at the beginning of June will be the plug-in hybrid Octavia iV.

At the end of August, the RS models will hit the market together with an all-wheel-drive 2.0 TSI Octavia offering 197 hp and a seven-speed DSG

In addition, a thrifty Octavia with a 1.5-liter engine compatible with compressed natural gas (CNG) will offer 129 hp channeled to the road through a seven-speed DSG.

Whoever can't wait for this updated RS and still gonna put their money on the "discontinued" RS, this should change their mind. Now that we have certain info that it won't be only hybrid, it makes an even stronger case. You'll be getting the same amount of raw TSI power in a completely new body and interior. I really don't see any reason to get the current RS245, that's sorta being dumped on Indian buyers.

Maybe it's the colour and/or the camo, but the RS looks very plain-Jane to me. If I did not know this was a RS variant, I would have thought it would be a mid-variant of the normal Octavia.

All-new OCTAVIA RS iV plug-in hybrid is the ŠKODA highlight at the Geneva Motor Show!

For the first time in an RS model, dynamic performance is ensured by a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

A 1.4 TSI petrol engine and an 85-kW electric motor combine to deliver a system output of 180 kW (245 PS) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, with CO2 emissions of around 30 g/km over the WLTP cycle (provisional data). Moreover, the OCTAVIA RS iV can cover up to 55 kilometres (WLTP) in all-electric mode, i.e. without generating any local emissions. A sports suspension with signature RS fine-tuning ensures dynamic handling.

Additional OCTAVIA model with hybrid technology

ŠKODA is complementing its Geneva presentation of the OCTAVIA RS iV by surrounding it with one more electrified version of its best-seller. The OCTAVIA iV also has a plug-in hybrid powertrain; its 1.4 TSI joins forces with an electric motor to provide a combined output of 150 kW (204 PS) and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. Available in conjunction with the Ambition and Style trim levels, this model version has a lithium-ion high-voltage battery with a capacity of 37 Ah and an energy content of 13 kWh. Like the RS iV, it can be conveniently charged at home from a 230-volt mains socket or a wallbox.
