See the below video @5:36
@4:58 of sujith's video it's clearly showing they are attempting to change mode to ROCK with AT in N , since they had the doubt, they consulted MG and other senior journalists. But none had clear information on it, strangely MG was tight lipped on it .

The vehicle does have a 4L as per the manual , the electronics interference is too much and defensive it seems, even the manual advises not to use it on sandy or muddy road for long time.

Kerb weight of MG Gloster is about 2225KG for the base 163ps variants and 2465KG for the 218ps top end variants, making it one of the heaviest , yup much lower priced Hector diesel got 170ps.

MG might force him to remove the video soon.
And its not going well , ain't a surprise with MG. As we have seen in Donkey car , fire accident cases MG has requested to pull down the video . But there's something happening beyond official communications, cyber bullying and spreading hatred on the youtuber by PR team as mentioned by him .

MG have to remember one thing, he also paid his hard earned money -22Lakhs on your Hector and promoted that car blindly without realising it's a Chinese product.

OT : Kairali Ford took this opportunity to give him a Ford Endeavour, and he is on his way to Ladakh from Kerala to demonstrate some winter off-roading.

I feel whatever Sujith expressed in the video is an unbiased view as his team compared Gloster with Endeavor which they massively used for offroading in Wayanad recently. Endeavor left all of them impressed and am sure Ford Kerala is going to get lot of customers for it. Maybe Team MG should have helped him with a resolution on the issue or provided him with a properly serviced vehicle. He has a good subscriber base and naturally if the vehicle was good it would have been beneficial for MG.

Plus he purchased Hector against the negative comments of his own subscribers and justified his choice. He also gave good reviews on MG's ZS EV. Well Ford Kerala is on a roll now and gave him the Endeavor for the Manali drive.. MG will have to come out with some damage control initiative in Kerala.

That's how most Chinese devices ger their 4+ star reviews on sites like Amazon also. Bribing, and if you don't budge, bullying. 30 to 40 lakhs is a lot of money and I hope the people who are buying this can afford to throw this sum away in the long run.
Best wishes to the owners and fans.

MG is back at it again with their 'Sold out' drama.

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...w/78978963.cms

If you remember, they pulled the same trick with Hector back in June '19 saying that they sold 21k units and were shutting down the booking to meet the demand for car. Flash forward a year and 2 months later, they announce that they hit a 'Milestone' and sold 25k units.

They are probably trying to tap into 'Indians have herd mentality' logic.

MG Just triggered out a huge controversy with this GLOSTER fiasco !

For a genuine review of a test-drive car, MG and it's employees tried cyber bullying this guy , and what's the end result ? They are losing their very first customer in Kerala , who referred 1000s of customers for an unknown brand selling Chinese rebadged cars !

*Sujith shared his genuine review, the car had a faulty transmission.

*Before the launch he was interested in upgrading to Gloster from his Hector and was in good touch with the management. The irony is that they even agreed for a 5 Lakh discount for this brand new car ! It's extremely sensible for MG too, can be accounted in their marketing fund. Well they planned for his delivery with the inauguration of their Kottayam showroom. But things went wrong after this test drive !

*Sujith lost interest and asked for 10 lakhs discount to avoid the deal, MG is using those chats against him and blaming FORD is behind this LOL !

*The test-drive car arrived in Kerala and met with multiple accidents, postponing reviews and embargo dates. Might be someone testing the Chinese version of ADAS in the tighter Kerala roads.

*Sujith shared his unlisted video with MG for their feedback , but they had nothing to say at that time . Now they are using PR against him.

Terrible job MG , terrible . You're losing Kerala which gave you more than 10% of sales in your launch year .

He just announced he's upgrading to an AT SUV probably Jeep Compass or Tata Harrier !

No offense intended. But did you mean that the Youtuber asked for an additional 5L off the price even after encountering an issue in a media drive car?

If so, then the way it looks to me is that both MG and this Youtuber are trying to take advantage of the situation.

MG was using him to further their marketing amongst the urban crowd from Kerala (I really wouldn't care two hoots about the opinion of influencers like these guys and would depend on solid reviews on Team-BHP) and he is using MG's one-off transmission issue to squeeze out the best possible deal on his new car purchase.

Besides, if he genuinely feels that any other car is better then he should go for it. Why would anyone try to negotiate further discounts on a vehicle they are not satisfied with?

What it also shows are the pitfalls of using social media a bit more than necessary. I seriously cant believe thousands of otherwise educated people in a region need to depend on a youtuber to invest 30-40 lacs in a product which they can very well judge for themselves before buying. All the current luxury brands became famous much before the social media age, and they certainly are none the worse off in these times.

Re: The MG Gloster, now launched at Rs 28.98 lakh

Apart from other issues, I still don't understand why people care much about off-roading when most of us drive our cars on terrain 90% of the time. I admire Fortuner's reliability, but it would be so much more attractive to me, if Toyota had launched a proper family SUV with creature comforts and a punchy engine rather than an off-road feature rich SUV. Just my point of view, also not defending the Gloster in any way because no one wants to see that kind of faults in a 40L car anyway.

+1 . I can understand people listen to experts . But here, most of his reviews are below average, be it bicycles or cars and sometimes highly erroneous. Romanticising and generalising his experience to absolute truths and fanboyism follows
Sad part is that no one follows experts like our beloved Anshuman Bishnoi. I saw this from technology(machine learning vlogs) to art , populism sometimes kills the depth

Let’s wait for Team-BHP’s official review which I believe is in the making, it will give a true image of how the Gloster is as a complete package.

Re: The MG Gloster, now launched at Rs 28.98 lakh

What so ever be the case here, even if the vehicle is abused should a critical component such as a gear box fail under five thousand kilometers and also a silence from the manufacturer is also concerning.

Re: The MG Gloster, now launched at Rs 28.98 lakh

Whatever the reason, its a 35-40 lac vehicle and this really shouldn't be happening, the sentiment towards Chinese products are anyways at a low and many prospective buyers would certainly look at other more promising options, after all most buyers would intend to keep the car for a few years and this happening at under 5000 kms is shocker and throws reliability out of the window.

To be fair to the YouTuber in question, he does not claim to be an automobile expert. In fact, he has mentioned multiple times even in the past that he is a travel vlogger who posts his real-life experiences with the cars he drives. In that sense, how different is it from the majority of the non-official reviews on Team-BHP? So many of our members are influenced not only by the official reviews, but also by experiences (good/bad) posted by non-expert members.
