I really doubt that MG will price this elephant at around 45 L. Let's not forget that pricing is one of the key factor behind Hector's success.

Both Hector & eZS are very competitively priced vehicles.

Rajeev Chaba, President and MD, MG Motor India touched on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on launch programmes but confirmed the Gloster SUV is on schedule. “Luckily, we had kept some margin with us and it has been delayed, but it [the Gloster launch] will still be before Diwali.

The D90 SUV looks really bland in real. I keep seeing them in Australia and I definitely think its way behind Fortuner, Endeavour on the design front. Even the latest Pajero looks much better.

D90 is considered a cheaper alternative to the Fortuner, Endeavour SUV's. So wondering why they want to price it close to 45L in India ? Looks like another Renault Koleos, Mahindra Rexton in the making.

Not sure how many it will sell , but the anti China sentiments would definitely have people think multiple times before plonking their hard earned indian rupees into a chinese product.
Also, they might not feel prowd owning and driving chinese car during these days.

Rajeev Chaba and the ex GM India cabal are notorious for overpriced launches followed by consistent price corrections. Simply believing one's brand is premium doesn't make it a 'premium brand' in the market.

MG Gloster teased on website

The MG Gloster has been teased on the brand's Indian website.



The SUV was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The SUV gets LED headlights, chrome trim around the grille, chrome trim around the fog lamps, silver front skid plate, 6-spoke alloy wheels and a chrome strip on the window line. At the rear, it gets a roof spoiler, a rear diffuser finished in gloss black and quad exhausts.

On the inside, it is expected to come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, an 8-inch MID, 3-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and front seats with heating and ventilation as well as a massage function.

The Gloster could be powered by an FCA-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 218 BHP and 480 Nm. The engine could be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

I am pretty sure, MG won't make that mistake. Hector arrived at a pretty mouth watering price tag and m sure MG will be looking to recreate that phenomenon. Lets not forget Price is the biggest card for MG.

Gloster at 25-27L can be a great alternative to the Ford and Toyota.

Sadly, that seems to be far from reality, and MG seems to be keen to price it more towards Land Cruiser territory, than Fortuner territory.

I hope that I am wrong and MG launches it at a couple of lakhs above the price of a Fortuner.
