Re: Share your automotive bucket list here!

Go to a Mercedes showroom wearing striped shorts, lungi, a green towel on shoulder, and a banian.

Eating roasted peanuts.

The salesman or woman would have a fit and hopefully will ask me - how may I help you, Saar?

Me- how much for that gullwing?

SM or SW- about 5 cr.

Me - give me 3.

And then reach for my money bag and pay for dem gulls in gold coins.

Re: Share your automotive bucket list here!

With growing chaos of traffic, potholes all around and roads getting filled with maniacs, I don't dream of luxury cars anymore. All I wish is for a death-race kind of car and put all the scratch-on-car/underbody-hits fear to rest

Share your automotive bucket list here!-images-3.jpeg

I know it's not practically possible, so nearest thing to this would be a THAR probably, which I wish to own in near future once it comes with an automatic

Re: Share your automotive bucket list here!

Nice thread! We all have lots of exciting things we dream to accomplish some day, and even I have my fair share. Never compiled these as a bucket list before, so taking this as an opportunity I'll try to remember and jot down here :

1. Ride on an Adventure tourer from delhi to Ladakh. I don't think I'll enjoy a solo ride, so I wish to ride it in a comfortable group. (maybe next year)

2. Learn to offroad and attempt a minimum of 3 days great escape kind of event.

3. Own a thar.

4. Have a track day and push my limits.

5. Go on a really long road trip vacation with my close company in an SUV, ideally to the north east of India

6. Test drive and review loads and loads of cars and get to know as much cars as I can in my lifetime.

7. Own a Mercedes Benz G Class

Of course, this list is not comprehensive and these were the things that first got to my mind and stays forever along with lot of other wishes.

Re: Share your automotive bucket list here!

Mine is rather simple , I want to see all my cars squeaky clean every morning.Bad roads, increasing pollution, worsening traffic situation- maintaining car has become nightmare. Car with scratch proof and dust resistant body panels would be nice to have.

I” keep it simple for now:

1) Own a 4x4 that is moon- ready (almost). Driving it through the forest trails, deserts and high mountains of north India. I guess a Jeep Compass Trailhawk would do nicely. Dont want a big lumbering giant whose parking will be a question to begin with.

2) Own nice touring motorcyle like VStrom 650. Trouble is, i am only now beginning to look at biking seriously at age 45, so a VStrom is a bit of a stretch. But will get there in a short course of time.

LOL. Many years ago, when I was looking at the newly launched Verna, i witnessed something similar in a Hyundai showroom in Pune. An apparently ragged looking gentleman and some of his family members were looking around the showroom awkwardly. The sales person enquired and tried to guide them towards the Santro, albeit hesitantly. But they took a look at the new Elantra and indicated their preference accordingly. The salesperson (and most of us) were left with our mouths agape. .

Re: Share your automotive bucket list here!

My dreams are more about nostalgia than anything else.
I kinda want to have a 90s Maruti, like a Zen or Esteem, preferably a carb version.
And a Yezdi or Jawa, with that classic 2-stroke tone.

Re: Share your automotive bucket list here!

The list is quite simple for me. I am quite fond of cars which came out in the begining of this milleninum. Ample amount of electronics, nothing more, nothing less.

1. The LC100, my kind of Land Cruiser among the stable. Purely overlanding purposes. Cross country trips.

2. R56 Mini Cooper JCW in red, daily driver. The fun car.

3. E46 M3, coupe, The escape car, the stress buster. I am in deep love with this thing. I could just stare at this for weeks and never get bored.

4. W204 C63 AMG, facelift, the beast as I would name it. The torquey mill and of course the growl.

5. W463 G63 AMG, first gen, the getaway car, the family car. Would never say no to an AMG mill any day.

6. The 2020 Honda Africa Twin, Manual of course. I have deep deep love for motorcycles. For solo finding yourself kind of drives. Cross country trips, long trips. Need to explore North Eastern states with this.

7. Triumph scrambler 1200, in matte khakhi green. Again the daily driver, the office commuter, the stress buster. I am in love with the response from the engine. Quite my kind of motorcycle. Has a statement to everything it comes with.
