Scoop! Tata Safari Storme production stopped

I bought a used Safari Dicor, despite many suggesting me not to go for it. It's with me for about 6 yrs now, total 9 yrs old. Plenty of memorable trips, never let us down. Some times with 10 passengers on board. Loads of luggage. Wife now flatly refusing to drive it due to its sheer size, difficulty in taking out if congested parking area and a super heavy clutch. Children want me to keep it as they love this spacious car. Am planning to replace it with Ertiga automatic. Hate to see the safari go. I wish they launch Storme with automatic petrol version with drastic weight reduction , to make it more premium, with lesser price tag, so that people like me can have 80% of Fortuner with 20% of money.

An interesting moment today.

We had gone to a small town Kanchipura in interiors of Chitradurga district. While we went to complete our work, noticed a person going around my Storme. After coming back, he was still there - he was looking around for changes between the Dicor and the Storme ! We had a short chat, and just before we signed off, he made the comment - "the craze never dies" !! He had owned a Dicor, and said he made good use of it - no babying

Who would have thought that fellow enthusiasts are in such remote places too !

I hope its the prelude to a Gravitas becoming the new Safari and Tata surprising us with a 4WD/AWD having being integrated in the last year since they showcased the car.

It is really unlikely for Gravitas and Harrier to have AWD in the near future. They simply have not invested in the AWD capabilities of that platform. WIll take at least 2 years, even if they wanted to make it AWD. This could be the prelude to Hexa Safari Edition. Hoping against hope that they have the 4x4 AT version.

If one want's AWD/4x4 with AT in a similar price bracket, the next Gen Scorpio/XUV 500 will be the ONLY option. Else one will have to jump in to the 40 lakh bracket SUVs.

Hey guys! Bumping up on this thread after nearly a year. Just a few minutes back a member of Tata Safari Group shared this which has gotten me really excited.
A Safari Storme with On Test sticker doing rounds. Does Tata have plans to bring back the Storme?

As far as I am aware, this is a left hand drive, for export market product which is on test. I stay a stone throw away from TATA. Its a usual site for me to see all these new and under test cars from them. Have seen left hand drive safari on test on more than one occasions.

Though I might be completely wrong and would love to be proved so!
