Saw a bunch of Superbs & Renault (Talisman I think) in that colour, and lets say it stands out like nothing else. It'll be like when Skoda India introduced the old vRS in yellow. People used to stop and stare at it.

Skoda has release information about next generation vRS and it will be powered by a hybrid (1.4 litre engine coupled with 85kw electric motor).

Another great reason to grab one of the 200 units currently on sale before every other manufacturer turns towards hybrid and electric vehicles.

Still unclear. While I think Skoda had planned it to be so, I think they are hedging their bets for another lifecycle. Autocar UK says this:

"It means that the Octavia vRS range will mirror that of the Golf ‘GT’ line-up, with the diesel version likely to be a 197bhp 2.0-litre TDI, and the pure-petrol Octavia vRS set to use the 2.0-litre TSI unit of the Golf GTI, with up to 242bhp possible."

Nah, the rally green colour does nothing for me. They should probably have introduced the British racing green colour back for the VRS (the first gen Octy in India used to come in that colour). This one is too bright. It'll probably look the most smashing in the blue and red liveries.

Waiting to see the 245 out on Bangalore roads.

Looks like the only remaining color is race blue. That was the only option shown when I tried out the site.

This could be due to cancellations. I don't see why they would have regional allocations within India.

I just watched the premiere of the new Octavia RS IV. It looks sharp and sexy making the outgoing model look boxy. Why would people still prefer to spend 43 Lakhs for it rather than wait for the new Gen RS.

Next gen vRS is going to have a lot of electronics and that might be a big turn off for some people. That list might grow if you consider the hybrid powertrain as well.

In my case, i bought an outgoing MK7 Golf GTI (which shares the platform with current gen vRS) when the updated MK8 is around the corner. Current platform is well established with fewer known issues. Next gen is going to have the latest and greatest technology which i dont prefer especially when i am planning to keep my vehicles for a while.

Even with drag slicks, and well over 300WHP, the peak g-force is a paltry 0.33g (about half of what RWD cars manage with road tyres), with a 0-62mph (0-100kmph) time of 5.3 seconds.
Sure, the way it goes after 100KMPH is crazy, but that's largely academic on our roads.
