This is an Instagram ad that I come across frequently.

Now if I'm not mistaken, Skoda had a couple of days to dispose off their 245, and it was not like a xiaomi sale, gone in seconds. Also wasn't the initial amount that was to be paid to book the car quite reasonable?

Then why is such a black market existing? Also aren't all these cars going to be listed as second owner, since the BS4 registration date has ended?

The RS245 was imported as a CBU under the special 2500 units scheme, and thus did not need homologation. They were also Euro 6 emissions compliant, so are considered to be BS-VI equivalent. Hence, they can be registered freely as first owner even now, i.e. without any restrictions.

Many people booked for the heck of it. However, the high on road price has scared many of them away into the waiting arms of BMW 330i salesmen.

Also, the economic crisis that has hit India hard has made many people think twice about spending 45-46 lakhs OTR for a Skoda

Plenty of people cancelled their bookings. Some upgraded to the BMW at a lower price, some people shelved their car plans temporarily.

The car has been picked up by a friend. However it shares it's garage with some nice enthusiast cars like the MK1 vRS, VTEC, Baleno, etc. No Supercars.

He works with a prominent car dealer here in the city, hence their stock cars the now Yellow wrapped Huracan Spyder, and the Bicolor Bianco 458 Italia were taken along for the delivery of their colleagues vehicle.

Stunning and gorgeous. This is like the British racing green (slightly lighter shade though) which has always been a favourite of mine. For instance, the Mini Cooper in India comes in British racing green.

I love this muted and dark green colour, and on the Octavia, it looks pretty stunning.

Good lord that is absolutely stunning. I wish we had this shade available in India. Seeing this, i am so so tempted to paint my Octavia this shade.

The Gen 1 Octavia used to come in a beautiful green as well. Apart from the color pallet on the RS, the standard Octavia gets such boring colors. Would have loved to see this green. Would have picked it over the silver for sure.

Will continue drooling!

I got a call from Kolkata dealer yesterday asking if I was interested in a RS245. I don't even remember registering in their website. I might have done it in excitement of the launch news, but I am not able to recollect this at this moment.

Looks like they had some cancellations as the BMW 330i Sport was not too far away from pricing pov. Add to that the economic slowdown that is looming ahead of us.

I also got a call from TAFE Skoda. Was in a meeting plus already bought my car so demurred.
