Skoda has completely lost it with this one.
It was on display at Mumbai airport in Jan so I asked what discount they're offering, the lady told me atleast 7-8 Lakhs off. When I inquired further with the dealer at Indore he told me there's a discount of just 35,000 plus loyalty bonus.

Seems Skoda management is so deeply in love with the RS245 that they dont want to sell the cars so they come back to them as company cars

This pricing brings it close to the OTR pricing of the previous generation. But spending 30+ big ones on a Skoda which has been sitting for over a year on the showroom floor can have its own unwanted ownership nightmares?

Wonder if guys actually managed to sell the ones allotted to them at a premium as I remember seeing an advertisement for a white one doing the rounds last year.

This quote does not have the RTO charges. So the effective OTR will be 33-34L I think in Mumbai.

Nope it will be approx 40L OTR as it's a CBU and MH RTO tax on CBU's i believe is 20% or so

This doesn’t include registration costs which are another 5-6L depending on where you are.

Also, I don’t think this price is being offered anywhere now to my knowledge. Currently seems like 2-3L.

JMD were the only ones offering this kind of discount for a few cars in India, heard lots of stories of these few cars that were in JMD stock. Better to investigate into these carefully before committing.

Considering that the new Octavia is almost here and the vRS variant will follow, discount of 10 lacs on the unsold stock is actually not unrealistic.

Had put in an inquiry on mail, and got a call back from Mody Skoda dealership in Bombay. The one they have in stock is the white coloured display vehicle at Bombay airport T2.

Was quoted an on-road price of ~ 40 lacs for this.

I was hoping (rather optimistically) of getting a quote in the range of 35 lacs and further bargaining it down to 32 to 33 lacs, at which point it would be a delicious deal.
