A test mule of the Jeep Compass with a BS6 compliant petrol engine has been spotted.

The window tag on the car suggests that it is the Sport variant. The car is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 168 BHP (170 HP), which makes it more powerful than the BS4 petrol engine that is available right now.

At present, the Jeep Compass is offered with a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 160 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that drives the front wheels.

The Jeep Compass BS6 is expected to be launched before the new emission norms come into effect from April 2020.

I clicked this photo today in Ahmednagar near Pune, this particular compass was parked there in a garage along with bs4 petrol and bs4 Diesel compass. Attaching non-cropped version of the click.

This is like having your cake & eating it too

. BS6 emissions as well as more power

. I would've thought that BS6 would restrict engine power delivery to an extent, but that clearly doesn't seem to be the case. Heck, the BS6 1.0L petrol I drove in the S-Presso was simply fantastic & IMHO better than the BS4 version of the engine.

The jeep diesel BS6 reduced 173 to 170 though.
