Rumour: Tata Motors to opt out of 2020 Geneva Motor Show

According to a media report, Tata Motors is unlikely to participate at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.

Rumour: Tata Motors to opt out of 2020 Geneva Motor Show-h2x.jpg

The report suggests that Tata Motors does not have anything new to showcase at Geneva next year. Besides, the carmaker would likely be looking to focus on the domestic market as it grapples with the slowdown.

Tata is likely to showcase its entire product range at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo, which takes place a month prior to the Geneva Motor Show. We can expect to see the Gravitas, Altroz, Altroz EV, Nexon facelift, Nexon EV and the Tiago and Tigor facelifts. Tata could also showcase a near-production version of the H2X.

Tata Motors has been showcasing its products at the Geneva Motor Show since 1998. The Indica was the first car that the company unveiled at Geneva.

Sensible move IMO. Spending big money for Geneva Motor Show is not justified for a company which does not have significant presence in Europe.
Especially with the gloomy market condition @ home, it make sense to spend responsibly and concentrate on market launches.

This is more to do with brand marketing and publicity. Tata has a reputation problem and this places the brand next to global majors.
