This is the facelifted X3 and is probably a customer car before registeration. A few of these exist in the Metros inlcuding a few in Delhi.

Hey the new X3 looks pretty Kewl.Any idea is it being officially launched in India.I saw its review on Top Gear by Jeremy Clarkeson. It has a stonking performance I must say according to what they have shown in the review.I think it has a different engine spec as well than the old one.Not sure whether they would launch it with the same engine spec in India if at all.

As per my info, only a few 3 series have been recieved as the first phase of BMW India, so Irags is right about this X3 being a car not routed through BMW India.

Then why does it require homologation? (This thing was spotted near ARAI).

Maybe the cost of the car is < $40,000 or the engine capacity is below 3.0l. It can be due to various reasons.
Or maybe it isn't being homologated at all.

"We expect to bring X3 and X5 series of vehicles in India soon. X3 is in the homologation stage while the process for X5 would start soon," BMW India president Peter Kronschnabl said.
