Renault starts exports of Triber to South Africa

Mod Note: Our Triber Report has been taken live at this link (Renault Triber : Official Review). Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

Renault has started exporting the Triber to South Africa. The first batch of 600 cars have been shipped to the country. Exports to other parts of Africa and SAARC countries are expected to commence soon.

Re: Renault starts exports of Triber to South Africa

As the Triber is spreading to other international markets I'm hoping for at least one agency to perform a crash test on it. Anything 3 star or above will be a great achievement as all the other similarly priced or overpriced car have faired 2 or 3 star max.

Is it just my eyes or the RSA bound car seems to be raised a few mm more than the Indian Triber? Those in the 2nd image appear higher off the ground. Maybe its just the camera angle.

Re: Renault starts exports of Triber to South Africa

Triber is one 'no nonsense' car and would really be perfect for the first time car buyer with a 'lean and mean' extended family with each member weighing in at 60kgs or less. I have seen a few and looks real good and sumptuous except for the underwhelming (barely sufficient) engine. Wish Renault gets the turbo-petrol engine with an automatic gear box fast.

The real positive of this news is that exports have started & are expected to grow in other African & SAARC countries. Such news are required for factories to remain operational & our workforce to stay employed. I hope more and more cars from multiple car makers are made with such intentions and design/capabilities that they fit other markets also with minimal changes & can be made with India as a manufacturing hub. Good going Renault!

We know what it is likely to share with the desi version. Now, if some informed soul can enlighten us on what it doesn't --- seats, steel strength, any other safety enhancements!! Actually, I am surprised that the export models have the same low powered engine and manual transmission.

The tyres will most likely be different profile, but seriously, you could make that out with naked eye
