Re: Long stay car parking @ Indian airports?

I am planning to park my car at Bangalore International Airport, at least for 3 nights. Is the parking always open and available?
Being an outsider (I am driving from TN), I do not want to get into trouble, if there is no parking is available, and cannot afford to come back to the city and find parking somewhere else. I do not want to miss the flight either.

Any information is much appreciated. Thank you.

Yes - there is long term parking available. Park in the P2 section.

Overnight parking is pretty safe, but it is outdoor parking, so you may prefer to cover your car when you park it.

Parking is pretty safe at BIAL and open 24x7. Ti be doubly safe, choose a spot near one of the stationed security guards. No need to cover, just avoid the trees due to bird poop.

Re: Long stay car parking @ Indian airports?

For information for those who are not aware;

There is long stay parking in Kochi airport (at both the domestic and international terminals). The charges are Rs 150 for 24 hours. I have used it a few times. I have not faced any problems and the car was safe.

Thank friends.

I called the inquiry no 080-66782258 to check avilability, and they were so responsive. They said parking space is always available and they do not run out of space. :-)

Yes. I just parked at the airport from Thursday night 10pm till Monday morning 5AM and paid Rs 1350/- Not to mention the airport road toll of Rs 120/- Doesn't feel like a convenient option anymore.

I'll take a cab next time.

Mind boggling! 450 bucks for 4.5 hours! Do they have any daily cap? Else a few hours more and you will pay the same that crazy driver spent for 4 days of parking!

Yes - the bill wont cross 500 bucks for 1 day. I still park my car for 2-3 days trips - find it more convenient than the hassle of waiting for cabs especially when coming back in the night.

He said 0500 and not 1700 so I guess it was parked for 16hrs and 30 mins.

Re: Long stay car parking @ Indian airports?

Any idea if the free parking declared by the aviation ministry is being followed by the Bangalore airport?

It's been extended till November 28th

As far as I am aware, ALL airports including privatized airports run by GVK / GMR etc. are duty-bound to follow such 'force majeure' directives from AAI.

The Hyderabad airport which is operated by GMR has been offering free parking (I visited last Sunday). I believe the Bangalore airport would be no different. Also, the tolls on the road are closed now.

Yes. I parked my car from 12th Nov to 15th Nov at Bangalore Airport. On 14th evening I called up the airport and asked if they would accept card for parking fee payment. They replied that they have temporarily installed a swiping machine at parking exit. On 15th morning I was ready with my credit card while exiting the parking lot, but to my pleasant surprise the operator just collected the parking slip and opened the gate saying that the parking fee was waived. I guess the waiver came into effect on 14th midnight.
