Hi All,

Can someone tell me, what is the current rate of parking at Chennai Airport? the below link doesnt state clearly:

by above wordings it seems the long term parking rates goes up somewhat exponentially and not just the total cost!!

The Bangalore airport website, says long term parking is 500 for day 1 and 300 for every subsequent day. Does this still hold good?

A friend was recently asked to pay 1000/- for two days?

My neighbor paid Rs.500 for 2 days may be 15 days back. I just reconfirmed with him over phone before posting a reply here. Tariffs on long term parking, economy parking and VIP Parking are completely different !

Alright, just parked for 3 days at the long term parking and the pricing is definitely as mentioned on the website and the boards at entry also mention the same pricing.

It is 500/- for day 1 and 300/- for every subsequent day, I paid 1100/- for 3 days.

I was told that it is 500 for 24 hours. I would like to know how they calculate for the subsequent day ? is it by xzy timing ?

I believe once you cross 24 hrs, for every subsequent 24 hrs block you are charged 300/-

I was curious about the parking charges @ Bangalore airport. What if you're parking for less than 24 hours - say 22 hours . Will you be charged Rs. 500 or is it Rs. 600 (First 2 hours Rs. 100 & Rs. 50 for every subsequent 2 hours)? Their website is not clear on that.

I gave my car to the valet at the Hyderabad airport and they charged me Rs.700 for 3 days, I think that is a reasonable price.

You will be charged 500.

There is nothing worse than cheznnai's airport in this regard. Overshoot 12 hours and your charge is 700. Cross 24 hour's by a minute and pay 1400. It would seem they are discouraging the park and fly concept.

Did you park in the Budget Parking (P2) or the Premium Parking (P3)?
By the way, the rates you mentioned earlier are the correct rates since the last 2 years.

Hello chetan,

If you park your car in say at 5.00am on a Friday and you take out your car at 8 am on a Monday, you would be charged for 3 days plus for the extra 3 hours:
Friday: Rs. 500
Saturday: Rs. 300
Sunday: Rs. 300
3 hours: 5.00am to 8.00am: Rs. 150
Total= Rs. 1250/-
The above tarrif holds true for P2 budget parking. I am not sure of the parking rates of the P3, Premium Parking.

Agree with you. I was not able to find the actual charges anywhere on the net. Recently my car was parked in the Chennai airport for 17 hours and I paid Rs 700. I think this is too high.

KIAL charges Rs 500 only once the charge as per hourly rate crosses Rs 500. For subsequent days, they charge a day rate of Rs 300 once the hourly rate crosses Rs 300.

AFAIK, P3 does not have long-stay/overnight parking. I guess you could park for more than a day, but you would be paying per hour.

Only P2 has the overnight parking option with per day rates and designated parking slots.

Actually, IIRC I paid the same amount when I had parked even back in 2012.
