while it may not win a beauty contest, i don't think its that bad.
Ha ! At last, i am not alone here. Reading through this thread gives you the impression that it looks sick. Actually, there is very little difference from the old bolero & some of the differences are pretty good.

Had a close look at the SLX and here are my comments.

1. Bumper though looks ugly, they retained as metal ( not fibre )
2. Door hinge cover - too flimsy and plasticy
3. running cladding is cheap ( old Bolero had very good cladding)
4. Gear liver position is better ( the knob is square!)
5. Motorised Head lamp level adjuster - good feature!
6. While dial for speedo - looks good.
7. Door pocket is useful - again flimsy

Yes, can adjust the beam from inside ( 4 positions) -- same as in Santros and fords

I thought Euro standard is only for emission norms.

@E_L : Regarding the looks of the Bolero, from behind the vehicle looks fine. It wouldnt look all that bad from front too, if they hadnt gone overboard with that two-tone thingy. The two-tone look where the Mahindra symbol rests is one major blunder. Take that off, and it wouldnt look all that bad.

its what is called these days as the headlamp leveller. it is mandatory on all cars since 2005 odd. even the M800 has them, I believe.

Actually, the stepney cover is pretty neat & novel.

Count me in E_L. It looks nice! its for the men and not the kids!

Had a look at new Bolero last saturday when I was at service station to get fluids for my OLD Bolero DI.
Looks are not that bad, interiors are better (gear knob, console dials and ac controls), but anyday I prefer my existing bolero looks.

yes...bolero boy,

the older one *IS* better. apparently, some of the interior changes in the new one are welcome.

Saw the Bolero test ride on Car and Bike show on NDTV.... its a vibrator. The inside rear view mirror was buzzing making anything coming behind almost impossible to be seen, at cruising speeds!!!
Price wise its still unbeatable.

i saw one parked today. the interiors definitely look built to a price, but then what a price !!

they have moved up the CDP slot higher to a better height. apparently this was a complaint earlier.

one thing i noticed was that the gear shift was quite close to the dash. i wonder if it will be uncomfortable arm-position wise on long drives, having to constantly reach that far to shift.

Did anyone notice the oddly shaped gear lever of the Bolero on the Car n Bike show on NDTV ? As pointed out by some other member, the rear view mirror was vibrating really bad when the vehicle was in motion.
