| ![]() Thanks for sharing. Here is a video I found online which highlights the difference between the new Endeavour and the Endeavour launched in 2016 in India. Some of the changes have already been done in the updated version of 2019. |

| ![]() If the Endeavour indeed launches with those power figures, suddenly the competition starts appearing weak, atleast on paper. The upcoming D90 SUV which was supposed to top the power and torque charts also has a lesser power and torque rating. And talk about the 10 speed automatic. I think 10 speeds is an overkill, even the CRV's 9 speed automatic does not see the use of the 9th gear at speeds less than 140 kmph. But let's see how Ford manages to select the 10 ratios. And if the Endeavour launches with this sole engine option then the owners can enjoy both the frugality of the older 2.2 and the power of the 3.2 combined in a single package. |

| ![]() Sad that Ford let go off the 2.2 and 3.2 in the BS6 era, given that euro6 versions of both are available in the UK market. And as an excuse, just like Toyota quoting 3-5 lakhs as conversion costs if they had went ahead. ![]() Going by international reviews, most of the Indian buyers would be pleased with the performance and refinement. Only shortcoming of the engine compared to the old 3.2, is in towing and heavy off-road applications, which I guess 90% of Indian customers won't even care about. Also the bi-turbo and 10 speed tranny have their share of reliability issues, but guess Ford must have ironed them over in the past two years. |

Team-BHP Support ![]() ![]() | ![]() I highly doubt this news article. A bi-turbo engine will greatly add to cost & complexity, both in purchase as well as maintenance. The same point applies to the 10-speed gearbox as well. SCR-type emissions treatment will easily make the existing Endeavour engines BS6 compliant and that's the way the industry is going. |

| ![]() This has more to do with emission norms and not downsizing. As usual, an article with limited knowledge. Newer turbo engine and 10 speed gear box will be more expensive over existing ones. I believe,Toyota dealers will also use the same logic to convince customers ![]() Last edited by Turbanator : 11th January 2020 at 12:07. |

Since the 2.2 engine is not even Euro 5 ready we can safely assume it will be discontinued for Indian market. https://www.ford.co.uk/content/dam/g...New_Ranger.pdf

| ![]() Spoke to a known dealership, cars are indeed being launched as early as this month end. Dealer dispatches will begin in about 5-7 days. 2,2 ltr is being stopped and 3,2 ltr will continue. No idea about prices as of now and Black interiors might come on the newer engine. I won’t be surprised if Ford positions 3,2 as Trend and the newer engine as Titanium. Most likely, Ford will wait for BS6 prices of Fortuner before announcing their own in my opinion. Last edited by Turbanator : 11th January 2020 at 14:15. |

| ![]() The Ford Ranger with the new Bi-turbo and 10 Auto gearbox is currently the highest selling 4WD and pick up truck in Australia. The Ford Everest is slightly down the chart but the topic of discussion here is the new Bi-turbo engine. This Ranger also outsells the Toyota Hilux which is nothing but the big brother of the Fortuner. This new Ranger has a selectable 2WD to 4WD unlike the 3.2L full time 4WD. This in turn will be more fuel efficient when compared to the 3.2L engine. Link: https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/top...-november-2019 |

Ofcourse Everest/Endy is not available in UK, but it's the wagon version of the Ranger, which is available there. Quoted UK, cause couldn't bother to find another English speaking place which follows euro norms. ![]()

| ![]() Don't know what the reliability will be for such a complex engine. The rival fortuner i think will still offer the 2.8 post BS6 so i don't know what kind of perceptions this engine will create for the product in the market. |

| ![]() Bi-Turbo engines making this kind of power and torque, with only around 2 litres capacity are not new. In 2009, Mercedes introduced the OM651 diesel with twin turbocharges putting out 204 hp and 500 NM from a mere 2.1 litre engine. The engine did duty on the E250CDi and the C250CDI among many others. It has taken Ford 11 years to get there and it will take Toyota at least another 11 more! Last edited by 84.monsoon : 11th January 2020 at 20:18. |

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/inter...el-engine.html (Ford reveals 2.0L EcoBlue diesel engine) Here's a comparo review: https://www.caradvice.com.au/717390/...re-comparison/ Overall it is improved but looks like it loses the low down punch somewhat. Also, as you mentioned they can just continue with 3.2L and add SCR+DPF like what is available internationally instead of getting the 2.0+10 speed.

BHPian ![]() | ![]() With competition hiking the price for BS6, Ford would be able to accommodate the biturbo engine as an option. They would be still able to place it below Fortuner top end price. |

| ![]() According to this Philippines review, the new Endeavour 2020 gives 16 kmpl at 100 kmphr on the highway. Those are some figures for a 2.5 tonne beast. |
