Yup - that's a pretty incredible price for what you get. I see MUL competitors possibly cutting prices or offering extras mighty soon, in which case the "arena" for entry-luxury sedans (by Indian definition at least) could get very interesting.

If MUL sticks to aggressive pricing for future diesel variants as well, us consumers are going to have a gala (and perhaps confusing) time selecting what car to buy.

How else can the dealers be made happy ? If they are not happy, sales could be dull. But honestly, i dont see prices coming down from what they have announced unless there is something seriously wrong with the car.

Wow.. Maruti got it perfect in all ways this time.. Just one thing left to swipe the Vernas and Fiestas off the feet and dust em off.. bring in the Diesel with a 1.6/1.9 MultiJet

History repeats itself!
Hyundai launched getz, Maruti released the swift and smacked Hyundai.
Now SX4 at 6.85 Lakhs.
The competitor Verna XXi ABS costs 7.22(Ex showroom Delhi) without Airbags.

Either a price drop from Hyundai, or major discounts!

Ex - show room price
+ VAT @ 12.5 % of ex show room price
+ Road Tax @ 10 - 12 % of ex showroom price ( In karnataka )
+ Insurance ( around 25 K ?? not sure , depends on your NCB)
+ incidental charges , approx 3 - 5 K

will be your on roadprice. Octroi also is chrged extra , but not applicable in bangalore.

Approx on road price: Add 15% to the ex-showroom price. (Bangalore specific).
