Tempting prices. The difference in both models of 70K is totally justified.

Now lest see how Maruti pulls it off. Any news on its diesel variant ? Will it be out by early next year ?

The car dimensions are definitely in C+ territory (not C).

The pricing is absolutely tempting, just like old Maruti Baleno. But probably that is the only similarity in old and new Baleno.

New Baleno seems to be well built. Interesting Maruti, which has been ridiculed as producing "tin boxes" in past, is moving towards strongly built cars. Swift was first example and now Baleno/SX4 (barring Estilo "pep" ).

FE/performance is not likely to be the main forte of this car. With 102 bhp engine for 1170 kg car, FE will go down and so will performance of old Baleno (less powerful but much lighter car).

Still, SX4 seems like a good all-rounder offering fantastic VFM for its customers.

Mumbai prices(ex-showroom)
VXi: 654200
ZXi: 725200
ZXi(Leather) 760200.

On road in Mumbai: Multiply by 1.115 + 3K(about)

So VXi will be =~ 732000
ZXi will be =~ 838000

Will give good fight to CITY ZX (even to VTEC)

Pricing is good. Lets see how it fares on:
1. Ride quality
2. NVH
3. Drivability

Khattar pulled a "Maruti" off the competition! Job well done!. What the ZXi offers for only 70k more is sheer value.

With current pricing, Maruti brand awareness, success of Swift, A.S.S.. there is no competition for SX4.

Killer pricing... I always thought, Honda have acted stubborn when it comes to Ctiy's pricing, its woefully overpriced. Difficult times ahead for everyone.... hyundai must be having sleepless nights I am sure.
Now a 1.3 JTD with VGT with 90 bhp and 8 lakh exshowroom price tag will almost kill the competition. Go maruti go!

SO who said again that Maruti doesnt enjoy success in the 7 lac segment .

P.S. I feel terrible for those who recently bought the Baleno.

You dont have to, considering that they bought it for less than 6L OTR which was a bonus considering the esteem vxi is still selling within that reach as well.
