I am sure that most of those that bought the Baleno in the last 3-4 months (if at all it was available) were aware of the SX4 coming. So, there must have been some solid urgency/reasoning behind there decision IMO.

discocunts are already in offering...

I was able to negotiate a 25k discount on Fiesta Petrol 1.4
It would have gone to roughly 30-32k in case of 1.6 SXI.

Since the pricing issue is settled now , anyone has idea when will the deliveries begin ?

p.s.-> discount included 11k corporate discount.

You dont have to, considering that they bought it for less than 6L OTR which was a bonus considering the esteem vxi is still selling within that reach as well.
Well, considering that the SX4 is about 70K more it offers much more value. Plus, let resale times come around. That will do the real talking.

If I remember right, one of them went by the nick of GTO.
I said they arent. Not that they cant. Check a recent post where I have written on Maruti repositioning / reinventing themselves.

Fiesta 1.6 Sxi 711000

Aveo 1.6 LT Limited Edition 676474
Aveo 1.6 LT Option Pack 722527

What about those who bought NHC's, Aveo's, Verna's and Fiestas? Heartburn all around?

Sadly, no pre-launch marketing campaign was the reason for very few people being aware of the SX4 entry.

Only enthusiastic surfers and car freaks were aware of this.

MARUTI should have build a hype around this ...knowing they will have a killer pricing to cash it in.

Spot on pricing! ZXi with leather option will be a great buy. Hats off to Maruti for giving twin airbags with ABS+EBD AND steering mounted controls at a killer price! I hope the SX4 gives it hard month after month to the snobbish NHC. Hopefully, SX4 will bring Honda back to earth because the NHC actually feels like a rip-off now.

Only concern are the looks of the car. From the website, I got the feeling that the car isn't propornate. It looks way too tall for a sedan and seems like it has a shortish hood and longish boot like the NHC. BUT, I will have to look at the car in person to come to a final conclusion on the looks part. Front quarter glass is also a little weird.

Aveo may be good looking, but a good car to drive it isnt, in my opinion.
I test drove the Aveo 1.6 and came back cursing the gear shift quality.
My friend who owns a NHC was also complaining about the same.

I just hope deliveries are not going to be major bottleneck (with this cool price tag) like maruti did for Swift.

I am going to visit Navnit motors tomorrow, I hope they are not going to disappoint me with the delivery period.

Anyone has enquired about delivery ?

btw, Sx4 will not just not impact this segment....I am sure Cedia will now suffer more.
And those Indigo XLs.....I am sure will get killed atleast till this introductory price lasts.

Spot on. The salesguy was egging me to go for the SX4. I said I challenge you to give me a decent buyback value for the Baleno - if you can, I'll buy (which I wouldn't have since I love my car )
So he went off and spoke to colleagues/bosses in the dealership and then came back with a glum face. "3.75 sir".

I think more than resale value, the OMB will have a problem getting buyers. So 'new' OMB users should run their cars as long as possible and enjoy it and then maybe 5 years hence buy a MUL SX6 (V6 D segment RWD sedan @12L) - ok enough of OT ranting & dreaming.

Spot on the price.

With features+A**+price=Kill the competition=Advantage Customer

Eagerly watching the competition to reduce their car prices.

No doubt, the reason why Hundai is running full-page ads of their accent almost daily in bangalore (verna can't match up with SX4, 50-60K add, you get SX4)

Wow. heartbreaks all around in Hyundai,Ford, GM and the mighty Honda camp. City indeed looks like a rip-off compared to Zxi now.

Interesting times ahead.

Would be surprised if SX4 isn't leading the C segment by a wide margin now onward!

I think each of our intreprid reporters from various cities - BLR, Mumbai, ND, Pune and Chennai; should start the TD at the same time and ripping conditions - all with a noble objective to see how the car fares across the country at the same time
