Please do - we might as well see how the car fares from the furthest port-of-call from Gurgaon

for just 70K more the Zxi is filled with superb options.all worth the money, the city dosent stand a chance now, just see how overpriced it is for what it offers.wake up Honda,Maruti just knocked you out.

But given the weight the performance is going to be a tad on the slower side, overall an excellent buy in this segment.

Slower compared to what. Maybe slower than Baleno, being so much heavier. However we must not forget its a new engine (and supposidely better) and power is up 10 bhp from the old Baleno. Only a full road test will tell.
But definitly not slower than Verna, Aveo, Fiesta 1.4, Logan, NHC iDSI. However it would be interesting to see how does it perform compared to Fiesta 1.6, NHC VTEC, and Cedia.

How good is this new engine ? Does it come with a solid reputation from elsewhere in the world ? Is it tuner friendly ?

Does someone have a spec-sheet? Everybody talks of options, but apart from ABS-EBD/alloys/16"ers, what does the ZXi have?

Yes definately compared to the Baleno.the performance will not be blistering is what is want to say.Maybe a 0-100 in 12.5 and topwack of around 180(remember its a tallboy).

also i see a 1.3L(swift engine) in the future priced below 6 Lacs and called an LXI,wich will offer brialliant value.

Approximate most new vehicles' prices

GeekSrik: Why calculate when you can use others' calculations!
For prices upto D segment in Bangalore, you can generally find some model of some vehicle on Mahindra's website or on the Prerana Motors website, whose on-road price (with a break-up of taxes, insurance, extended warranty, etc.) is available and whose ex-showroom price is close to the price of the new vehicle.

For example, based on the above method, I think the SX4 Lxi will be 7.25L on-road Bangalore (give or take a few thousand).

[OT] I think the Spark 1.0 (A/C, no PS) will be 3.55L on-road Bangalore - what a premium for better ride and longer warranty than competitors!

The engine which is used on Sx4 is M16A. But i strongly feel it does not have VVT (Variable valve timing). It would have been wonderful if the engine had VVT. VVT enhances both low end torque and high speed performance. Even disc brakes at the back have been missed out. Also 60:40 split at the rear seat is missed out. Other than this every thing is fine.

From this angle, doesn't it look like a high-ground clearance SUV?

Unless I am mistaken, this motor does have VVT.
Can somebody please confirm this.

Cheers
