And yes we should do a full road test as well.

Btw rtech youre right bout white. I think they should have offered that colour too. We could add the livery to make it look like the WRC Octavia

Well, the early models of the Elegance came with the rear wiper/washer. These were CKD kits that came in. Once they started making the Skoda here, they did away with the wiper to save costs. Now you cannot get it on any model.

Bad idea I think coz the rear wiper is really needed on the Skoda.

Yup they took it out about 12 mts back. they claim that rear de fogger does the job. I really wish they atleast offered it as an option. Lets all harass Skoda to do so. I find the rear wiper really useful on my wife's sail.

i use the one on my wife's sail quite a bit. it help when you got saline (salt wter spray) deposits on the car. in traffic I find anything that helps vision esp. preipheral vision should be included.

rear wipers are a boon when driving in monssons, especially on the long highway hauls, the whole rear end gets balck in color thanks to the amazing surface of our roads

yea...i've often wished for a rear wiper on long drives when the rear gets covered in dust and grime.

The dealer's excuse of a rear defroster doing the job is a joke though! I really wonder what they take the customer as...or do they really believe half the rubbish that comes out in their sales pitch?

this problem is pretty severe in the santro. atleast when i had the santro i used the rear wiper a lot coz, the muck flying off the cars rear wheels settled on the rear windscreen,

the problem isnt there on my ikon now..and the defogger is more than sufficient

cheers

Whenever I have taken my buddys Sierra Turbo on the highway, monsoons or no monsoons...that rear wash wipe has always been a boon.

P.S. When its working that is. Tata and Merc electronics seem to have a lot in common

what bothers me is that the wiper is not even an option! What were THEY thinking. BTW how can we use this forum to get what we want? Do we have method through which we can put forward a joint opinion to car companies or even to the mags? Some other forums (audio, laptops, and photograhpy) I subscribe to have taken to using the power of a joint opinion to convince manufacturers to develop products or improve product design and even get group discounts.
