A new onboard video shows the fullsize SUV being put through its paces in a brief acceleration test to demonstrate the performance capabilities of the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6. It replaces the old naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V8, bringing more power and improved fuel economy.

With an advantage of nearly 30 hp and 80 pound-feet (108 Newton-meters) corroborated with the better low-end response provided by the pair of turbochargers, the new Land Cruiser manages to impress in the acceleration test. Keeping in mind the size and heft of the SUV, a sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in roughly seven seconds isn't too shabby. Toyota quotes a 6.7-second for the job, which seems a fairly realistic figure .

Couldn't find a proper on road review of the latest Land Cruiser 300 yet and here it is already inducted into the police force ! Also look at the huge fleet ! I bet the guys in sales for the LC 300 in the Middle East wont have to do much work selling this behemoth !

Even after all this time, yet to come across a proper full blown review with testing the car to it's limits. Most of the ones found online are not in English and are mainly restricted to showroom walkarounds. If anyone has come across an extensive video do share it here. Looking forward to to a proper on road / off road driving review. Here is another one, but nothing extensive on the driving part.

Guess we have to wait till it is launched in Australia. New Zealand has got a single vehicle, which I believe is the diesel one, but no reviews from there either.

Pretty weird for Toyota even in this pandemic era. Just a brief launch video and on sale in GCC nations and Russia.

2022 Land Cruiser LC300 GR Sport spotted in Australia: Link

shows a matte black LandCruiser 300 Series driving through Ringwood in Melbourne's east, covered in a layer of dust likely originating from unsealed-road testing by Toyota Australia engineers in rural Victoria.

While the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series range is due in Australia late this year, the Japanese car maker is yet to confirm if the GR Sport will be sold locally – or if the vehicle caught on camera is being tested on behalf of overseas markets.

The GR Sport example is fitted with a hooped bullbar – though the lack of front-on images or video makes it difficult to ascertain any other key changes.

Toyota Australia's website confirms all models in Australia will initially be powered by the new 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel V6, which sends 227kW and 700Nm to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Full-time four-wheel drive and a 3500kg braked towing capacity will be standard across the range, while top-end models including the Sahara will offer seven seats, off-road cruise control modes, and a 'Multi-Terrain Monitor' off-road 360-degree camera system.

The New Land Cruiser arrives in S Africa, pricing and specification announced.




- The heritage off-roader will be available in five trims with two engine options.

- The entry-level Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GX-R 3,3D with a price tag of R1 283 200

- This is followed by the ZX 3,3D at R 1 765 500 and the ZX 3,5T at R1 797 100

- The above 3 entry level retains key features such as LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, keyless entry with auto-door-lock, park distance control, an electric parking brake, climate control with rear-zone, power driver-seat adjustment, a multi-Information Display, built-in navigation (with Tracks 4 Africa support on the GX-R), multiple power outlets with charging port, Crawl Control and Drive Mode Select.

- The sportier GR-S trim which is available with the 3,3D and 3,5T powertrains. This costs R1 811 900 and R1 824 900 respectively.

Together with the ZX, this trim features power fold-down third-row seating, a power-operated back door with hands-free function, heated steering wheel with wood accents, JBL 14-speaker audio system with DVD playback and 12,3-inch screen, Multi-Terrain Monitor with Panoramic View, seat heating & ventilation for first- and second-row passengers, a wireless charger and tyre pressure monitoring. All models have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

Engine line-up:

This includes a twin-turbo petrol 3,5-litre V6 or a turbodiesel 3,3-litre V6.
The petrol offers 305 kW at 5 200 r/min and 650 N.m of torque available from 2 000 r/min while the new diesel delivers 225 kW at 4 000 r/min and 700 N.m between 1 600 and 2 600 r/min. Top speed is limited at 210 km/h for both variants.
The new engines are mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission with low-range functionality.

Petrol ZX models will go on sale early August with the diesel and GR-S derivatives following shortly thereafter.

All Toyota Land Cruiser 300 models are sold with a nine-services / 90 000 km service plan with service intervals set at 12-months or 10 000 km (whichever occurs first).

A three-year/100 000 km warranty is included across the board.

Very much curious on this pricing! Shocked? 14 Lakhs ? A CBU to India will be much cheaper than a Fortuner.

Looks like a typo, pricing seems to be starting from R 12.8lakhs which is around 65 lakhs INR.

the GR Sport variant was developed using feedback from drivers racing in the Dakar Rally, where the Land Cruiser is participating in the production car category since 1995. As a result, the 2023 Dakar Rally onwards, Toyota Auto Body will participate in the race using a vehicle based on the 300 Series GR Sport

GR Sport differentiates itself from all the other Land Cruisers thanks to a version-specific bod-ykit. This includes a redesigned front bumper with “Toyota” lettering and less chrome on the large grille, more vertical side intakes, and unpainted plastic cladding on the lower part with a skid plate.

There is also a carbon-weave pattern on the center console, door panels, and steering wheel for a sporty note. As you would expect, the GR Sport retains the practical three-row 7-seat configuration of the Land Cruiser 300 Series.

The GR Sport is available with both engine options of the Land Cruiser Range without any performance gains. More specifically there is the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline unit producing 409 hp (305 kW / 415 PS) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, and the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel producing 304 hp (227 kW / 309 PS) and an impressive 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. Both engines are mated to a Direct Shift 10-speed automatic transmission which helps with the fuel economy, sending power to all four wheels.

A trick suspension that improves off-road abilities:

Standard equipment of the GR Sport includes front and rear electronic differential locks (unlike other variants which only have an optional rear differential lock) which always come in handy off the beaten track. Another cool and exclusive feature is Toyota’s Electronic-Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) – an electronically controlled suspension that automatically and independently adjusts the front and rear stabilizers reacting to individual conditions of each wheel.

The E-KDSS system offers increased driving stability in the city and reduces vibrations while further enhancing the off-road credentials. As Toyota describes it, the suspension improves “road-holding performance following jumps at medium to high speeds in undulating sections” so get ready to enjoy some serious air-time.

The GR Sport is the most expensive trim of the Land Cruiser with pricing in Japan starting from ¥7,700,000 ($70,468) for the gasoline version and from ¥8,000,000 ($73,216) for the diesel. The model will be produced in Toyota’s Yoshiwara Plant in Japan, and it is expected to reach dealers in its home market on August 21-22.

The more I see the LC300, the more I like it. I prefer the grille on the GR Sport version, but the black wheels look a bit bland. Nothing that a set of off-road wheels can't fix though!

I am guessing they are keeping the air suspension for the Lexus version. Hope they don't mess up the looks too much with the spindle grille.

Although the LC lost the V8, 415PS from the V6 sounds pretty good. Hope it's high on refinement. Knowing Toyota, they should keep this for next 10 or even 15 years with minor updates and refreshes.
