The blackened area beneath the grill looks similar to the design cues on the Mercedes EQC.

Rear quarter looks Jeep WAGONEER-ish a lot, how about powertrains? Toyota is the hybrid preacher, hoping this flagship comes with a standard full fledged HYBRID.

Design refresh is good but I'm still not convinced that they developed a brand new ladder frame chassis in 2021, especially when it's not a hot seller in USA.

Re: Next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series may debut later in 2020

The rear quarter panel looks really odd and does not gel well in the overall design scheme of things. Wondering if this is one of the reason (and the V8 diesel of the LC200) why the current generation LandCruiser suddenly found huge demand (used and new) in countries like Australia

Actually the rear three quarter looks really similar
to the Nissan patrol - the LC’s biggest rival in an almost uncanny way!

True. More like, am annoyed that the renders shown years ago has come true.

When the renders first came, I thought they just mixed and matched with the latest LC facelift, American full size SUVs and the Landcruiser's only true rival- the Patrol.

And voila. That's what it became in metal and glass (and plastic). The front looks too American and the rear is ditto the Patrol, including the D pillar.

Waiting to see the GX and GR-S variants to see if they have retained the typical 'Cruiser looks. Atleast hope there is some variant for the GCC market with barn doors/tailgate mounted spare and side stickers.. Pretty sure everyone will get used to the looks with some high res dune bashing pics and videos.

Yep, the Landcruiser would be the first BoF vehicle in Toyota's line-up to get hybrid tech.

If any company can develop a brand new ladder frame chassis now, it is Toyota, regardless of US market presence. The TNGA-F platform will underpin everything from the Landcruiser to the next gen Innova.

Not sure if the present Hiace uses the TNGA platform, but definitely the next gen Landcruiser/Lexus LX, Landcruiser Prado/Lexus GX, Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner, Sequoia, Hilux, Fortuner, Innova will all share the same platform.

The Detroit 3 have their vulgarly large pickup sales to support new BoF platform development. Merc prices the G-wagon to recover the costs. Ford is splitting the next gen Ranger/Endeavour platform cost's with VW. Nissan is....

- VX-R Grade badge is affixed to the rear tailgate ( grade for ME markets)

As speculated by ACI, it will be launched in India:

New Toyota Land Cruiser for India:

The next-gen Toyota flagship SUV is expected to be unveiled on the global stage in the coming months with launches in international markets to follow. Coming to India, while Toyota did sell the Land Cruiser 200 Series in India for a few years, the model was discontinued in the shift to BS6. It will be safe to expect the Land Cruiser 300 to make its way in India in future.

Last one was sold at 1,56 cr ex showroom if I recollect correctly. This time, expect around 1,75 Cr mark

A lot of the LC make to the politicians as the Governments can purchase without customs and GST, Road Tax and Insurance. So, for them it will be about twice the price of fortuner perhaps. It can click with Bollywood if it has the bling, I am not sure if the newer generation is bothered too much with reliability.

A black LC300 definitely looks better than a white one.

Re: Next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series may debut later in 2020

Why does the stance looks so raised in all of these? Transport mode? Usually, that’s the position when you raise the height. But wait, not all markets get the Air suspension, so with KDSS, it will be interesting to see how it take cares of the body roll. The more I see, as of now, the more it looks yucky.

Reminds me of Sumo Grande. Too plain Jane - be it the side profile or the rear.
