Re: Next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series may debut later in 2020

The Old Fortuner i.e. 1st and 2nd Gen were kind of inspired from how Land Cruiser looked. Now with the new Design-line, it seems that they are taking lot of inspiration from Lexus which is evident from the 3rd and 4th iteration of Fortuner.

White color of the LC300 looks a bit odd however some-how the Red Color and Black design look a lot better.

I find the Front End Design to be inspired from the Cadilac Escalade. This does give it an aggressive look to the car.

Re: Next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series may debut later in 2020

The J300 looks like a very generic large American SUV at least from the outside. This could be both a good and bad thing. The purists may complain whereas this sort of a design may appeal to American buyers who are used to similarly styled offerings from the American Big 3. I wonder what the Lexus equivalent would look like?

This model looks too boxy for my liking. This would only boost BMW X7 sales IMO considering the limited off roading needs in India and the VFM BMW offers !

Re: Next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series may debut later in 2020

I actually find the looks ok now, in dark shades, ofcourse. I still feel the grille is overdone at the front, but in a darker shade it doesn't stand out as much. As for the rear, the LC300 has gone the way of the Nissan Patrol with cues from the Lexus stable.

With the only question being related to the V6 twin turbo diesel, I am sure once this proves itself, this will be yet another runaway success for Toyota.

Looks like a cross of an Escalade and a Nissan Patrol. The front portion heavily inspired by the former and the rear by the latter.

The proportions, especially in white, are off. The stance too lends it an unfinished look.

More pics of the LC: 70 th anniversary badge and side decal.

Toyota Land Cruiser will celebrate its 70th anniversary on Aug 01-2021, it will also pay homage to Jeep BJ type that appeared on Aug 01-1951 ( B stands for Engine type and J for Jeep)

Re: Next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series may debut later in 2020

I really like the looks on this. Boxy but understated at the same time. The design will age well considering that this generation will probably be on sale for 10+ years.

Re: Next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series may debut later in 2020

The high gap in the wheel well that I pointed out, is seen clearly with earlier generation and appears too large. It can help in the off-road situation but will be tricky on-road.
