Great decision taken by Tata to launch CNG variants with increasing petrol prices.

What else one wants if they are getting factory fitted CNG kit + Safety in this segment.

All the best to them.

Now all they have to do is market the CNG variants extensively in advertisement, brochures, social media etc by showing dual strengths:

• Mileage
• Safety

which none of the competition offers at the same time.

Rear Defogger, washer and wiper are available in both XZ and XZ+ in Tiago. The one in pics is the XZ variant not the top end XZ+

Oh okay. But I think the Rear park assist camera is available only on the XZ+ variant.

From the picture not able to judge if the wheels are alloy or the dual tone hyperstyle wheel caps.

But the presence of Rear park assist camera makes me feel this is a XZ+ plus variant.

The wheels are hyperstyle only. Very confusing indeed. Either they upgraded XZ to have a rear camera or degraded XZ+ to have Hyperstyle instead of alloys

Tata Tiago CNG XZ variant detailed in video

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the CNG version of the Tiago later this month. However, cars have already started reaching dealerships, and it seems that the Tiago CNG will come loaded with features.



A new video has surfaced online that gives us a detailed look at the XZ variant of the Tiago CNG. Starting with the exterior, the Tiago CNG XZ will be equipped with projector headlamps and fog lamps. The car will also come with a rearview camera, a rear wiper and dual-tone wheel caps.



On the inside, the car gets a dual-tone interior featuring a touchscreen infotainment head-unit, a digital instrument cluster and automatic climate control.



The Tiago CNG will use the same 1.2-litre engine as the petrol version. This engine produces 85 BHP and 113 Nm. However, the output is expected to drop when running on CNG. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

From what I hear from a reliable source, at launch it will come only with the MT. Not sure if AMT will follow subsequently or not.

Should they even offer spare Tyre (barring legal reasons) and have an openable boot!?

You can access it by folding the rear seats, I saw this in one of the walkaround videos. It looked fairly accessible, let's see what real life experience says.

Also, there is a fire extinguisher in the passenger footwell.

Tata Motors to update Tiago and Tigor for 2022, changes leaked.

- 2022 Tata Tiago will get a new Midnight Plum colour.

- XZ+ and XZA+ variants will come with projector headlamps, LED DRLs and chrome embellishment throughout the exterior, including on the radiator grille, door handles and boot lid.

- Cabin theme changed to Black and Beige



















- 2022 Tigor will be offered with a new Magnetic Red paint option which will replace the existing Deep Red colour. This new shade will be available only in the top-spec XZ+ and XZA+ grades.

- The 15-inch dual tone alloy wheels now come painted in a shade named Sonic Silver.

- The car will be equipped with auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and a Black and Beige interior with new seat fabric and chromed interior door handles

The updated XZ+ variants of the Tata Tiago and Tigor will be launched tomorrow, alongside the Tiago and Tigor CNG.

The Tiago CNG will come with four variants and Tigor CNG will get two variants.

A 90k premium over the equivalent petrol variant is a tall ask for a system that is supposed to cost around 30-40k to procure. (This number was given to me by the FNG).

A couple of days ago Maruti did the same, Tata is totally happy following the lead it seems.

Agree that the premium seems a bit too much. Although, they've given a few much needed feature updates like the gorgeous LED DRLs from Tigor to the Tiago along with the Projector headlamps.

The XT priced at 6.7 lakhs against Celerio VXi at 6.4 lakhs and Grand i10 NIOS Magna 7.07 lakhs is VERY VERY lucrative.

Tata seems to have gone a bit aggressive with XZ+ here at 7.53 lakhs against Grand i10 NIOS Sportz at 7.6 lakhs. Important to note that Celerio doesn't offer CNG in ZXi variant.

Also, none of the players here offer CNG with AMT.

I think, for Tiago, while the XZ+ is ambitiously priced, XT is quite competitive. And as you said, how happily they are following the leader in terms of pricing is a reflection of their confidence in the product in my eyes.
