Second the thoughts here on forum. The front does look to follow altroz's styling and this is good news for Tiago. Just one query - will this also be based on the alpha platform as altroz?

Re: 2019 Tata Tiago facelift in the works

It is a midlife facelift. There will not be any platform change

Nope. This is just a mid life makeover. The next generation Tiago is still atleast a year or two away considering the fact that not a single test mule has been spotted yet.

The next generation will undoubtedly be based on the alpha platform only.

Re: 2019 Tata Tiago facelift in the works

I've been waiting for nearly 5 months already for the facelift to release. Dont know if they will be ready even after April2020 the way things are going for TML.
TML is only disappointing me more with time.

Re: 2019 Tata Tiago facelift in the works

The facelifted Tigor and Tiago appear to be getting new projector headlamp units with a vertical indicator, similar to the Altroz.

Quote:
The Tata Tigor facelift has been spied during a public road test once again ahead of its debut that could take place at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. The new spy images reveal the updated fascia of the model.

As seen in the spy images, the facelifted Tata Tigor receives a new fascia, including new projector headlamps with the turn indicators now positioned vertically instead of the horizontal placement on the current model. Also on offer is a new grille, exclusive details and images of which are available here. The model also receives a redesigned bumper, new air dam and refreshed fog lamp housings.

Updates to the interior of the Tata Tigor facelift could include new upholstery and a fully digital instrument cluster that could be offered as standard. Powertrain options on the model currently include a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine. The former will be updated to comply with the BS6 norms while the latter is expected to be discontinued due to high development costs. Transmission options may include a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT unit. Upon launch, the Tigor facelift will rival against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and the Volkswagen Ameo.

Re: 2019 Tata Tiago facelift in the works

Gaadiwaadi article with more pictures and IAB render of the BS6 Tigor facelift

Quote:
Tata Tigor facelift is expected to debut at the 2020 Auto Expo in February before going on sale

Tata Motors will be officially launching the Altroz on January 22, 2020 while the electrified Nexon and the facelifted version of the regular Nexon are expected to debut soon as well. Bookings for both Altroz and Nexon EV have commenced across showrooms. The homegrown auto major is preparing to unleash a number of new products during the course of next year as well.

At the 2020 Auto Expo, the seven-seater version of Tata Harrier dubbed the Gravitas with longer rear overhang and an additional row of seat will be launched. The company has already been caught testing the updated avatars of the Tiago and Tigor as well. They are expected to go on sale before the BSVI deadline towards the end of March 2020 with upgraded engines.

The 2020 Tata Tiago and Tigor will draw heavy design influence from the Altroz that is based on Impact Design 2.0 as the Nexon EV and forthcoming Nexon. Based on the spy shots, IAB has come up with a rendering giving you a clear glimpse of what to expect from the revised subcompact sedan. It could as well premiere at the biennial motoring show in February.

The rendering showcases the sedan in a lot sportier iteration and it goes in line with the coupe-ish roofline ensuring a notchback-like stance for the five-seater. Up front, it gets a revised grille section along with sleeker projector headlamps and repositioned turn indicators and possible LED Daytime Running Lights.

Other visual updates include new diamond-cut alloy wheels, redesigned front and rear bumper, sharper black fog lamp enclosures, updated LED tail lamps, black painted roof and B-pillars among others. The 2020 Tata Tigor could adorn new colour choices borrowed from the Altroz’s range to bring a refreshed vibe while the interior gains a new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system accompanying the updated feature list.

The 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine will step into the BSVI era and it will develop 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of peak torque delivered at 3,500 rpm. It is mated to either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT transmission. The 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine will be shown the exit doors for good measure.

Re: 2019 Tata Tiago facelift in the works

Autocar India scoops the first undisguised mule of the Tiago facelift. The headlamps look quite a bit more sleeker than before.

Something is off. Doesn't seem like a prototype vehicle. Seems more of a customer modified JTP version.

This seems to be the real deal - if you look at the earlier pictures of the facelift test mules, the bumper air dam, fog light housings, headlamp units and honeycomb grille correlate with the picture from the ACI scoop.

However, Vahan shows (hope I entered the correct digits due to the blurred picture) that the vehicle was registered in April 2016 itself to Concorde Motors. Surely, they couldn't have been testing a facelift 3.5 years back? Or did they internally 'borrow' the plates from another Tiago for the facelift prototype while using on public roads? I have seen pictures on the official MB India Instagram page for the V Class promo with the registration plates borrowed from the photographer's car for the photoshoot!

Re: 2019 Tata Tiago facelift in the works

That smiling grill of Vista/Manza/Aria seems to be coming back in these face lifts. Not sure if this is good or bad. Nothing wrong with having a family look, but too much of everything is boring. I hope it is not a repeat of 2005-2015 for TML with the same family look.

Re: 2019 Tata Tiago facelift in the works

Any hopes of these face-lifted versions being reflected in the JTP twins anytime soon?

Re: 2019 Tata Tiago facelift in the works

Tiago/Tigor twins' updates on facelift models:

1. Headlights, grill, and other styling cues inspired from Altroz.

2. Bonnet height raised to comply with pedestrian safety norms.

3. Tiago to not get projector headlamps even on top variant, Tigor to get the same on top variant.

4. Both the twins get flat bottom steering wheel as seen in Altroz.

5. Tiago to get adjustable headrests for rear seats, and also gets reverse parking camera.

6. Tigor gets push button start and keyless entry features.

7. Both the twins will get digital instrument cluster as standard across all the variants.

8. Multi-drive modes feature no longer available on both Tiago and Tigor.

9. To get the same petrol and diesel powertrains with BS6 updates.

10. Petrol engine is heavily reworked to improve NVH, variable valve timing tech added. Tiago's petrol engine now gets balancer shaft.

Current Tiago gets Projector headlamps on top variant. I doubt they will remove it in facelift.

Will the variable valve timing improve engine performance?

It should immediately replicate. I doubt they'll manage two different sets of body parts - will be a nightmare.
