Mahindra's Nashik plant celebrates 25-lakh vehicles milestone

Mahindra's Nashik plant celebrates 25-lakh vehicles milestone-mahindrascorpio25lakhproduction.jpg
2.5 millionth vehicle to rollout of the plant is Mahindra Scorpio
Quote:
Mahindra Nashik manufacturing facility began its journey in 1981, and a production capacity of 210,000 vehicles. The first vehicle to be rolled out from here was the FJ Mini Bus. At the time, the plant manufactured 8 vehicles per day. Today, 700+ vehicles roll out of the assembly line each day.

Mahindra exports vehicle from here to 34 countries. The Nashik plant is entrusted with manufacturing Scorpio, Marazzo, XUV300, Bolero, e-Verito, Ambulance, Scorpio SC/DC and Thar range. Mahindra views the achievement as a significant moment in its automotive journey, and says, ‘this achievement is a stepping stone to many more accolades for our Nashik plant in times to come.

Milestones as they say are what they are. While, the production line is abuzz with activity, the manufacturer has prepped for a grand showcase at Auto Expo 2020. And along with its current range, Mahindra is keen to display its electric mobility solutions. This includes the two door Atom, which is likely to be showcased as connected vehicle along with electric capability. Interestingly the Mahindra Funster teaser brings together a future electric SUV and at the same time could also be a glimpse into what next-gen XUV500 could look a bit like.

Had the privelege of working here a couple of decades back in my first job after completing engineering. Feels good that it survived & continues to thrive.
