I just hope that it's not a repeat of fake Safari and we get a fragile monocoque FWD instead of a sturdy body-on-frame 4WD. But the populace rarely buys nice cars, isn't it?

Precisely. If I was in the marketing team at TaMo, I'd be fighting tooth and nail to have the Sierra EV in production, soon rather than later. It has the potential to be the Tesla-like cool kid in any garage. Therefore, a massive brand-building opportunity that is not to be missed.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the new HBX/Hornbill is christened the Sierra.

Is there any actual news on the Sierra? I loved the concept. Tata never confirmed whether it will go into production or not. They said the decision will be taken according to the public response. I really wish that they launch Sierra as a Creta/Seltos rival. Will be a perfect replacement for my Creta 2018!

I think it is going to be on their Alfa architecture and not body on frame design.
Somewhere I remember Pratap Bose saying this in an interview. As per him plan is to have EV and fossil fuel versions. Which is one of the core capabilities of Alfa architecture.

Wasnt it Pratap Bose who said no Russian doll designs ? If this concept comes to production - and for new/other models, too - I hope they bring in differentiators in the looks. I hope the Harrier vs Gravitas/Safari was an aberration

True but at the HBX unveil, Pratap said that HBX has the signature Impact 2.0 SUV front, consistent in all our new SUVs. So, I think that when Sierra goes into production it will most probably have the split LED-DRL and headlamp design, just like the Harrier.

If Tata launch this vehicle in future, it has to be 4 door version. 2 door versions don't sell in India. Hope Tata will go for it.

In recent past, people are more and more interested in Tata cars, actually buying Tata cars which is very good site to see. In recent time, Tata has given us few very good cars like Nexon, Altroz, Harrier, Nexon EV and now new Safari. HBX is on it's way and surely many people are waiting for it including me. Sierra will be really good option for Tata to create a new segment again which nobody currently has. Hope Tata will launch this in near future.

4 doors are nice, but 2 is exclusive.
