Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2020

So... Skoda expects people to buy a 36 Lakh car on blind faith. Is this common in car space?

Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2020

All those cars look juicy but with 19inch alloy wheels, one cannot unleash the car's potential without damaging the wheels in India

Haha forget test drives, I have serious doubts about service and spares. With our roads and traffic, people want to drive a performance car without support crew?

No Octavia 2020 on display
Completely heartbroken, now seriously contemplating to cancel my visit to Auto Expo.

I saw an interview of Zac Hollis where he called 2020 as a transformation year for the company to reshape and have a wider dealership network. So this year there will have more or less niche products and we'll be seeing a lot more in 2021. I am assuming the new Octavia will come round about end of this year or beginning of next one. Let's see how things work out.

There are a few people on this forum who did not take a test drive of the earlier RS and bought it directly. Afaik, they are happy with their purchase!

Which was a lot easier decision to make, thanks to the Rs. 25.49 lakhs price tag when launched.

Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2020

I think this is the 5th straight auto expo that the Rapid is appearing in. Must be a record.

Re: Skoda @ Auto Expo 2020

Of all the stalls at the expo, Skoda's comes as a breath of fresh air, for me.

Why?

Simply because it has more sedans featured than SUVs! Honestly speaking, I take a big yawn at every manufacturer, trying to emulate each other to bring out 'SUV' after 'SUVs', most of them not even nice to look at (must exclude Tata in this, their new found mojo is heartening to see)!

I'm sorry but with the current crop and future launches, I am reaching towards the epitome of boredom! All I want is someone to bring out an exciting (in all sense), small/big hatchback or a sedan.

Is this superb engine gearbox combo same as the vrs in a detuned state? Which 7 speed day is this running?

It's running the new 7 speed wet clutch Dq381 gearbox.

Then instead of buying an overpriced vRS, one should get superb sportline and remap it.

That Superb sportline looked mouthwatering.

The older Sportline didn't do very well. One of the reasons was the boring design alloy wheels.

This will be fixed in the upcoming sportline with the right 18inch wheels.

190PS 2.0L TSI and DQ381, will be a killer package!
