Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020

Big shoutout to Rehaan for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Auto Expo. Thanks for sharing, man!

The No. 2 carmaker in India has set up a pretty big area in the Auto Expo:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-01.jpg

Response to the Expo has been lukewarm this time around:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-02.jpg

New launch area on the right...
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-03.jpg

...while display cars get their separate section:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-04.jpg

Note: Creta and Tucson launches will be covered in their separate threads.

Re: Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020

Le Fil Rouge concept was showcased. According to Hyundai, it is the reinterpretation of the Korean carmaker's design language:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-01.jpg

The cascade grille is unmistakably Hyundai:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-02.jpg

Hyundai has come a long way from the 1974 Coupe Concept to this:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-03.jpg

Le Fil Rouge has been designed with the Golden Ratio in mind:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-04.jpg

Rear gets a dual tone scheme. Notice lip spoiler and the way the sides curve into the bumper:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-05.jpg

Headlights are a part of the grille at the front:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-06.jpg

Intricate design element at the end of the headlight:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-07.jpg

Black front lip extends outwards. Notice the triangular design elements on the grille:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-08.jpg

Close up of the vents of the airdam - the triangular patters continues here as well:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-09.jpg

No side vents, instead you get a textured design element:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-10.jpg

Five spoke alloy wheels are shod in low profile Pirelli P Zero tyres:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-12.jpg

Take a look at the details:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-13.jpg

Le Fil Rouge gets a coupe-like roof. The car also lacks B-pillars. Rear doors are hinged at the back:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-14.jpg

Side-step or a piece of jewellery?
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-15.jpg

Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-16.jpg

Take a look at how the roof tapers down:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-19.jpg

Rear wheels are wider that the front ones. Notice the depth:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-20.jpg

Occupants get these hollow headrests:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-21.jpg

The car gets a two-spoke squarish steering wheel:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-22.jpg

Nope, that's not a damaged roof, the design tapers towards the middle:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-23.jpg

Weird looking T-shaped bar is connected on the boot:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-24.jpg

Detailing on rear glass area corners:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-25.jpg

Camera, which is a part of the driver aid systems:

Re: Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020

Nexo Fuel cell was the other highlight of the Hyundai pavilion:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-00.jpg

This fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) is very 'car-like' in design and appeal:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-01.jpg

Balanced proportions, silver roof rails and black cladding gives cred to this SUV:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-02.jpg

The Nexo looks completely like a regular car - more so as customers are skeptical to adopt new technologies:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-03.jpg

Rear gets triangular LED tail lights and a floating roof type design for the D-pillar:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-04.jpg

Front is dominated by a grille with wavy mesh. Slim driving lights sit at the top while the headlights get a triangular housing down below:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-05.jpg

Fuel cell badging on the right side. Black cladding from the sides extends into the rear bumper. Notice the tow cap on the right side of the number plate housing:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-06.jpg

245/45 section Michelin tyres shod on 19-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-07.jpg

The tail lights are a two piece unit with the inner part located on the hatch:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-08.jpg

Flush fitting handles on all doors:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-09.jpg

Fuel cell badge gets a blue highlight:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-10.jpg

A cutout of the powertrain system is kept to understand how fuel cell works:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-11.jpg

Front houses the fuel cell...
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-12.jpg

Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-13.jpg

...while the rear has the tanks for the hydrogen:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-14.jpg

The lighted pipes are for the fuel (blue) and electricity (orange):
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-15.jpg

A bidirectional high voltage DC-DC converter:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-16.jpg

One of the tanks is cut to show the insides:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-17.jpg

A small battery is also located on the rear axle. Unlike electrics cars, fuel cell cars can do with smaller batteries:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-18.jpg

Hydrogen tank can handle 700 bar pressure:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-19.jpg

H2 filling nozzle:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-20.jpg

Interiors get dual screens (driver console + infotainment) and lots of button on the centre console:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-21.jpg

Another look at the buttons:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-21b.jpg

Notice the compartment below the center console. The 12V power and USB ports can been seen as well:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-22.jpg

Two-spoke steering wheel gets phone + media controls on the left and cruise control on the right:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-23.jpg

...while the bonnet vent helps pass air through the large radiators (visible from the vent):
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-17.jpg

Drinks high-octane gasoline:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-18.jpg

Another massive air channel - this one even gets its own netting!

Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-03.jpg

Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-04.jpg

Each robotic leg has 5 degrees of freedom and Elevate can do both mammalian and reptilian walking gaits:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-05.jpg

When driving on highways, the legs retract to give it a car like stance:
Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020-06.jpg

The legs can also help in transportation of mobility challenged people, which don't have access to a ramp:

Re: Hyundai @ Auto Expo 2020

Looking forward to the i10 Nios Turbo. Looks production ready and borrows generously from the Aura Turbo parts bin.

Will be having well over 100 hp/ton and good fun going by the Aura Turbo. Hope they work on the suspension and steering as well to match the engine - which along with the looks, is a let down in the Aura.
