Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020

Big shoutout to Rehaan for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Auto Expo. Thanks for sharing, man!

Maruti Suzuki has set up a large stall at the 2020 Auto Expo. While most of the manufacturer's cars have been displayed, the Vitara Brezza facelift is expected to be launched on February 6. The Ignis facelift and Jimny might be displayed later as well:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-01.jpg

The cars are easily accessible in an open layout:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-01b.jpg

Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-02.jpg

A separate press area for briefings / launches:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-03.jpg

A small studio has also been set up!
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-04.jpg

The Mission Green Million initiative was also launched:

Re: Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020

Futuro-e was premiered as part of the Mission Green Million. Maruti Suzuki aims to sell one million green cars including CNG, hybrid and electric vehicles over the next few years:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-01.jpg

The Futuro-e is an electric study concept that could show the future design language of Maruti as well as showcase the company's green mobility initiatives:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-02.jpg

It gets a coupe-like roofline:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-03.jpg

Front gets C-shaped headlamps with a connected light bar...
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-04.jpg

...while the rear has an all-width taillight with vertical bars on the sides:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-05.jpg

A close look at the headlights:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-06.jpg

Front airdam consists of vertical slats place close to each other:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-07.jpg

The vertical elements are lights (running lights / indicators):
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-08.jpg

ORVM's are replaced by cameras:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-09.jpg

They also house the turn signal:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-10.jpg

19-inch petal shaped alloys shod in 235/50 section Yokohama BluEarth tyres:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-11.jpg

Take a look at the interesting tread pattern:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-12.jpg

The SUV gets flared wheel arches:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-13.jpg

Coupe-like roofline is prominent from this angle:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-14.jpg

Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-14b.jpg

Rear gets a big light bar below which a large Suzuki logo sits. Large Futuro-e lettering looks too loud:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-16.jpg

Notice the brake lights in action (vertical lights) and the HMSL as well:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-17.jpg

A close look at the rear lights:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-18.jpg

Turn indicator is also integrated amongst the vertical light elements:

HMSL is located just below the spoiler:

Re: Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020

Swift hybrid was also on display at the Maruti pavilion:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-01.jpg

Except for the hybrid badge at the back, it looks pretty much identical to the regular Swift:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-02.jpg

This bit houses the radar for the auto emergency braking, that is offered on international models:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-03.jpg

Hybrid badge on the fender:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-04.jpg

Specifications of the car. Note that the transmission is a 5AGS (5-speed AMT):
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-05.jpg

Interiors get the now familiar all-black theme:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-06.jpg

This small dial tells if the hybrid system is charging, supplying power to the motors or off:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-07.jpg

Gear lever gets a purple highlight. Also note the aftermarket Sony infotainment and the 'P' label beside the gear lever. AMT boxes don't usually get 'P' mode:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-08.jpg

You can also notice the shift lock button, again not offered on the AMT cars:

Classy looking Nexa lounge was part of the pavilion:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-01.jpg

It has a sitting area and was done up nicely:

Ciaz S in the dual tone black and red shade was displayed:

The black spoiler is now offered from the factory:

A Baleno with body kit:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-02.jpg

An Ertiga with some cosmetic upgrades:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-03.jpg

This S-Presso had black and white accessories all over - DRL surrounds, grille, side moulding, mirror caps, etc.:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-04.jpg

A tastefully done up Dzire:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-05.jpg

This WagonR too got the cosmetic treatment:

It includes moss coloured grille inserts and fog lamp surrounds...

...marble type gear and centre console...
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-08.jpg

...and same for the arm rest area:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-09.jpg

Tail lamps too got the same treatment:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-10.jpg

And so did the boot lid garnish:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-11.jpg

Looks like just another S-Presso, but look closer and you will notice the CNG sticker:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-12.jpg

The car gets some cladding, rear chrome garnish and some stickering work:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-13.jpg

Black and red side moulding:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-14.jpg

The car also gets window visors:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-15.jpg

Celerio with similar visual upgrades:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-16.jpg

The metallic grey inserts do look nice:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-17.jpg

Dual tone red and black swift with a body kit:
Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020-18.jpg

It gets a revised bumper cladding, black spoiler and tail light surround:

An extended lip at the front...

Re: Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020

Very lame effort from the market leader.

Absolutely nothing displayed that the buyers would like to look forward to! Not even the Jimny for god's sake!

Just some regular showroom cars with body kits and sticker jobs along with a concept which will look nothing like this when it makes it to production.

Re: Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020

Maruri seems to be in a very dull phase altogether. Clearly one of the laggards in this expo as well as outside. At least they could have spared us the horrible signature special edition kind of bling jobs.

I am sure Maruti being Maruti will make a come back later, but it remains to be seen if the market moves ahead by that time with new players and innovations. Obviously, the dependence on Toyota alone can save them.

Re: Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020

I think 1.5 petrol version of SCross was displayed.

However, except the Futuro-E, rest are bland IMHO.

Even the Vitara Brezza facelift with the petrol motor maybe launched tomorrow.

But then, both these changes are only because they were totally unprepared for BS6 and had to switch both these diesel-only models to petrol power instead.

Not sure if the market will fully agree!

Re: Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020

Look at the hybrid sticker in the swift !
Look closer and notice the CNG sticker on the Spresso, with black and red side cladding and window visors ! Oh brilliant...
A red and black Ciaz !

Man... They are still the number one manufacturer in India ! Such a lame effort being the numero uno. May be they are complacent. But it is about time they pull up their socks.

Well, we have only ourselves to blame. I reckon the Brezza launch tomorrow will see the wildest crowd in this Expo.

Re: Maruti @ Auto Expo 2020

Nothing noteworthy from Maruti in the Auto Expo apart from the Futuro e.
The Swift Hybrid looks to be having Paddle Shifters as well. Any real benefits of having them on an AMT?

According to this report, the Jimny will be showcased on the 8th of February -

I am still holding out against all odds.
