China-based Great Wall Motors had cars from its Haval and Ora brands on display. Haval presented SUVs and crossovers from its portfolio, while Ora had the R1 and iQ electric cars on display.

Great Wall Motors had a separate stand for its two concept cars.


Haval's SUV line-up was put on display next to the concept cars.




Company profile and information about its manufacturing and R&D facilities was displayed on the wall.

Haval Vision 2025 Concept

The Haval Vision 2025 Concept gives us a preview of GWM's electric SUV of the future.

The concept SUV has twin-pod LED headlights with a blanked-out grille.


It has a trapezoidal air dam and L-shaped LED daytime running lights on either side.


The SUV has clean lines and large alloy wheels finished in chrome.


The twin-pod tail lights look identical to the car's headlight setup.


The dual-tone rear bumper has an integrated diffuser.


The roof spoiler has ducts that channel air over the rear windshield.


The interior of the Vision 2025 Concept is finished in a dual-tone of blue and white. The two-spoke steering wheel is also wrapped in the same two-tone upholstery. Also note the large touchscreen which is angled towards the driver.


The concept SUV does not have a B-pillar. The carbon-backed seats add a sporty touch.

Haval Concept H

The Haval Concept H made its global debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. It's a plug-in hybrid SUV.

The Haval Concept H features a large grille with slim LED headlights.




The car has chrome trim on the door panels and around the windows. It's equipped with 5-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels.


At the rear, it has L-shaped tail lamp clusters with the Haval lettering in the centre and a dual-tone bumper.


The Concept H has a dual-tone interior. The dashboard features bronze trim and an upright touchscreen infotainment head-unit. The car has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel.


The gear lever has been replaced with a touchpad. It also has a panoramic sunroof and comes equipped with forward collision alert system and autonomous emergency braking.

Haval F5

The Haval F5 measures 4,470 mm in length, 1,857 mm in width, 1,638 mm in height and the wheelbase is 2,680 mm.


The SUV has a large grille with a chrome frame and sweptback headlamps with LED daytime running lights.


It has blacked-out B-pillars, black roof with silver roof rails and silver trim along the window line.


The dual-tone front bumper has L-shaped chrome inserts and houses circular fog lamps.


At the rear, the F5 has a roof spoiler, wraparound tail lights and a dual-tone bumper with faux chrome exhaust tips.


The F5's interior is finished in a dual-tone of black and brown.


It has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster.


The trapezoidal air vents have silver surrounds. There's also a touchscreen infotainment head-unit with silver buttons placed just below it.






The SUV also has a panoramic sunroof.


Door panels are also finished in dual-tone upholstery and have silver trim.


The car has a large boot. The rear centre headrest is also adjustable.

The 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine makes 166 BHP @ 5,000-6,000 rpm and 285 Nm @ 1,400-3,000 rpm. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Haval F7

The Haval F7 is a mid-size SUV that is slightly larger than the MG Hector.


It has a large hexagonal grille and slim headlamp clusters. The front bumper has triangular pods.


The SUV has blacked-out B and C-pillars with chrome trim around the windows.


The rear features wraparound tail lights with a chrome strip in the center. Also note the gloss black roof spoiler.


The shark fin antenna is also visible in this image.


The 5-spoke alloy wheels have a chrome finish.


The interior of the F7 is finished in a dual-tone of black and dark brown. It has a power adjustable driver's seat.


It has a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster.


The touchscreen infotainment screen is angled towards the driver.




The SUV comes with a front centre arm rest and a panoramic sunroof.

Haval F7X

The Haval F7X is essentially a coupe version of the F7.

The front fascia is identical to the F7. It features a hexagonal grille and slim headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights.


The rear windshield is steeply raked on the F7X. The wraparound tail lamp clusters are similar to the F7.


The combination of chrome and gloss black surfaces add a classy look.


4-pod headlamps and U-shaped chrome trims line the fog lamp pods.


The F7X shares its interior with the F7. It also gets dual-tone upholstery and power adjustable driver's seat.


The 3-spoke steering wheel and digital instrument cluster is also from the F7.


And, so is the centre console and touchscreen infotainment head-unit. The car has an engine start / stop button.

Haval H9

The Haval H9 measures 5,090 mm in length, 1,926 mm in width, 1,900 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2,800 mm.


The H9 has chrome grille and sweptback headlamps that have L-shaped LED daytime running lights.


The SUV has flared wheel arches that house silver 6-spoke alloy wheels. The B and C-pillars are finished in gloss black and there is chrome trim around the windows.


The rear features vertically stacked wraparound tail lamp clusters. The spare wheel is mounted on the tailgate.


There's a rear spoiler and a single chrome exhaust.


The interior of the H9 is wrapped in dual-tone upholstery with diamond stitching on the door panels and seats.


The dashboard layout is pretty conventional with a touchscreen infotainment in the centre flanked by air-conditioning vents. The SUV has a 4-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It has a power adjustable driver's seat, which also has memory function.


Retractable step for easy ingress and egress.


Front passenger seat controls are conveniently located to enable rear passengers to adjust the seat position.


Side hinged rear door. Third row of seats have a 50:50 split.


Gas strut for the tail gate.


The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 221 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 385 Nm @ 1,800-3,600 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

GWM R1

The R1 micro EV had its own separate stand next to the Haval SUVs.


The R1 is a micro EV which is 3,495 mm long, 1,660 mm wide and 1,560 mm in height. The car's wheelbase is 2,475 mm.


The car has a white front fascia with circular projector headlamps.


At the rear, it has square-ish tail lamp clusters. A tiny rear fog lamp is placed under the number plate housing.

The car has a dual-tone interior with blue accents.


It has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster. The centre console houses a floating touchscreen infotainment head-unit and three circular air-conditioning vents.


The drive mode selector is a rotary dial placed just below the air-conditioning vents.


Switches for the power windows, door locks and electronic parking brake are positioned between the front seats.




The rear window does not roll down.


Rear passengers also get adjustable headrests and grab handles.




While the boot looks tiny, it might fit a large suitcase.


The electric motor develops 47 BHP and 125 Nm of torque. The car is claimed to accelerate from 0-50 km/h in 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 102 km/h. The R1 is available with two battery options - 28.5 kWh and 33 kWh. The base variant is said to offer a range of 301 km, while the other has a maximum range of 351 km on a single charge.




GWM claims that the battery can be recharged from 5-80% in 40 minutes using a fast charger. Slow charging can take between 9.1-10 hours.

GWM iQ

The GWM iQ is an all-electric crossover.

It measures 4,460 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,567 mm in height. The car's wheelbase is 2,650 mm and it has a ground clearance of 135 mm.

The front features slim LED headlights with L-shaped LED daytime running lights.


Just like the front, the rear too has gloss black trim and slim tail lamps. The dual-tone bumper houses a pair of reflectors and reverse lights.


The iQ has black cladding along the door sills and 5-spoke alloy wheels.




The interior is an all-black affair. It has a 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. The centre console houses a touchscreen and the drive mode selector.

The electric motor has an output of 161 BHP and 280 Nm. It is claimed to accelerate from 0-50 km/h in 4.5 seconds and the top speed is said to be 100 km/h.


The 46.57 kWh battery pack is said to offer a maximum range of 401 km on a single charge. Recharging the battery from 5-80% takes 40 minutes using a fast charger and 8 hours using a slow charger.

The R1 micro EV looks very interesting and capable of taking on the entry-level EV market if priced similar to the likes of the KUV 1OO EV.

Perhaps GWM should market it under a separate brand, or launch the halo SUVs first before launching the small car.

Is it an illusion caused by the camera angles, or will the driver have to look down to see the infotainment screen in the H5, and also to some extent in the H7? If the driver has to look down, it will be a major inconvenience while using navigation.

This line up reminded me of the Top Gear episode in which Jeremy Clarkson and James May test Chinese cars. Each of the Haval SUVs resemble some of the SUVs already on sale. Somewhat like a mix tape of different manufacturers.
